Hotel Koenig

We spent just recently two nights in the Hotel König in Passau and were quite happy. The rooms are not too big but nice, very clean and silent, the breakfast was really good and the staff very friendly and accommodating. The only thing which is not really great is the hotel parking. It’s small and narrow and if the other hotel guests are careless or lousy driver a nightmare - but this is absolutely the only space for improvement!

My wife and I recently stayed at the Hotel Koenig in Passau as this was the start point of a Bike and Boat trip on the Danube. The hotel is quaint and very accommodating. Our room was enormous by any standard but when compared to other European hotels we were overwhelmed. The staff were very helpful and the included breakfast was very nice. Definitely a hotel that I would recommend to anyone.

Hotel Koenig is a charming Hotel located right on the Danube River. Reception staff very professional and always had friendly smiles. We requested a quiet double comfort room with river views. That is exactly what we had for our 3 night stay. Especially nice, was the sitting area in our room, with 2 Tub Chairs, great for having a cup of tea and enjoying people/river views. Comfort room had tea-making facilities and mini-bar. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Breakfast Room was bright and had good selection of all types of food. Coffee/Tea orders were prompt and waitresses so kind and friendly. Approx 7 Euro taxi fare from station. Main entrance is right on the wharf and has a elevator up to Reception. There is also a 2nd Exit, out to the old town, on the 2nd Floor. Would love to return for a longer stay!

If you are planning a trip to Passau on the beautiful Danube River, try the Hotel Konig. This is a truly gorgeous hotel, right on the river. Our room is beautifully appointed, very comfortable bed, mini bar, nice sparkling clean bathroom. Check in was 2 p.m. So in the meantime we took a two hour boat trip on the Swarovski Kristallschiff, What a beautiful boat, all done up in Swarovski crystal chandeliers, an incredible crystal staircase, crystals everywhere you look. The cruise booking center is right across the road from the hotel. We received a 7% discount for the cruise from Hotel Konig. But getting back to the hotel, the parking garage is right on the street next to the hotel. The lady at check-in took us down and showed us where you park. You must have a reservation to park your vehicle as space is limited and there is a charge for parking. The breakfast buffet is included in the room rate. Walking out the front of the door takes you to the river and little shops and restaurants all along the way. If you take the elevator in the hotel to the second floor, it lets you out into Old Town Passau with lots more shops. This is a great hotel in a great location at a good price. I highly recommend it!

Stayed two nights to visit Passau. Was allowed to check in an hour early. Room was nice. Comfortable bed and very soft pillows. Nice breakfast. I had some minor issues with the WiFi coming and going, but it worked about 90% of the time. Unfortunately, it seems the hotel is renovating the second floor (my room was on the third floor), which lead to some construction noises starting at 8:00 a.m. I am a morning person, so the noises were not too bothersome, but if such noises bother you, check with the hotel first to see when the renovations will be complete. The hotel is about 12-15 minutes from the main train station. I walked, and I enjoyed the walk, but if you have a lot of luggage, you may want to take a cab. Overall, I enjoyed my stay.

Our room was large and clean, with a great view right out on the Danube. The entire facility was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was very nice. The lady at the desk provided really appreciated assistance to us in trying to make reservations for a difficult bus connection on to the Czech Republic. The hotel location is particularly convenient. Out the front door to the right and through a narrow passage and one finds oneself suddenly in the newer and more modern part of town. In the other direction one is immediately in the older more historic section.

We ended a Viking cruise in Passau and stayed a couple of days...not enough time! Hotel Koenig provided a spacious and comfortable room with a great view over the garden and restaurant below. We loved Passau and will be returning to delve into more of its wonderful o0fferings. And staying at Hotel Koenig

Great location and large rooms and large bathroom. Very comfortable with ample amenities. A good buffet breakfast made an excellent start to each day exploring Passau.

Nestled on the banks of the Danube River this hotel offers it all, great views and great location. Just exit the rear of the Hotel on the second floor and you are in the heart of old town with the Dom and Cathedral near by as well as a plethora of shops, restaurants, bars, and bakeries! Despite being on a peninsula between two rivers, the property is easy to drive to and has onsite parking. The building is old but the rooms are modern and very clean! Our room was very spacious with plenty of room for suitcases, plenty of seating, a well stocked refrigerator, nice heat (and AC), along with a window that opened and a nice view. The bathroom was warm, well lit, offered basic amenities, and had a nice shower/bath. We did hear our neighbors in the hallway and above from time-to-time, but we were very happy with our stay. The staff was also very helpful, friendly, and speak English. Highly recommend!
