DoubleTree by Hilton Bay City - Riverfront

The hotel was in a great location right next to the river with many shops & bars in walking distance. Upon arrival you're given warm cookies and free coffee in the morning. The rooms are well appointed clean and the beds are very comfortable. The staff was nice warm and inviting which always makes staying in a hotel a plus. I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in the area excellent hotel.

Was it worth 200$+ a night? Definitely not. Wasn’t anything outstanding. You could probably find a nicer hotel for that price.

We had a great time and enjoyed the pool. We stayed on the riverside room. Staff was great. And we visited some place nearby.

The atmosphere was vibrant in the lobby bar. Nice place to come back to and enjoy drinks and a meal before going to bed. You don’t need to search for a restaurant to go to. The location was fantastic along the riverfront. We would definitely come back.

Greeting by the staff was great. Very helpful and upbeat. Room was spacious, great view facing the river, comfortable beds, clean and plenty of parking. Centrally located to downtown, so it was a 3-5 min walk to restaurants and bars. We stay here every time we are in Saginaw/Bay City area because of the convenience and quality.

I stayed at this hotel the weekend of October 4th, and while the property itself is nice, my experience was far from relaxing. The toilet in our room kept backing up all night—about every 30 to 40 minutes. It was loud enough to wake us repeatedly. When I reported it, I was simply told to “close the bathroom door,” which did nothing to solve the problem. I called the front desk and was informed that they couldn’t offer any kind of credit or compensation—that could only be handled by the manager on Monday. Since then, I’ve called about eight times over the past two weeks, and the manager still hasn’t returned my calls. To make matters worse, only one elevator was working during our entire stay, which caused long waits. I was not the only one with this issue. This could be a great hotel, but the lack of maintenance and poor customer service made it a very disappointing experience. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves communication with guests.
