The Taleon Imperial Hotel

As an American family unsure about what to expect on our first trip to St. Petersburg, it would be difficult to imagine an experience more welcoming than we found at the Taleon. Communication in advance of our arrival was excellent, they supplied an extra separate bed for my son and upgraded our room for free so my wife and I had our own sleeping space. Service was excellent and everyone was happy to help us practice our Russian but use English without hesitation. Breakfasts were excellent and the rooftop restaurant cheerfully served us even at 11 PM when it was otherwise empty. Looking forward to returning here in the future!

Absolutely fantastic. The quality of the restoration work of this former palace is very impressive and the hotel staff are very professional. We loved the location as well!

Amazing Hotel in a great location.

Very nice hotel, not quite 5-star by UK standards, but very good none-the-less. The superior rooms are large and comfortable (although the 'queen bed' is actually two singles pushed together, with two single duvets, and a queen mattress had to be requested over the top). The rooftop pool is excellent and the staff are generally friendly and helpful. The room was good value, but any extras (in the bar, or room service) are incredibly expensive, e.g. £8 for a cup of hot chocolate, £9-10 for a shot of relatively ordinary Vodka.

There is nothing really to say, it was perfect. The only possible negative comment I could make was re the cost of breakfast. It was far to expensive and not worth the money. Everything else was fine.

We loved it from the moment we entered the palatial hall way - the website does do it justice as it is so much better than we had imagined. To be able to stay in an original Palace was so lovely and we swam everyday and only once had to share the pool!! Beauty and hairdressers were terrific too. The staff were exceptional.

My parents and I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The rooms resembled those of a palace (from the furniture to the drapes to the tiles in the bathroom). The breakfast was outstanding and definitely exceeded our expectations (red caviar, etc). By the way, the swimming pool and spa are included in the price of the stay again which is great! The noise insulation of the rooms is incredible - never heard a sound from the street or the neighbors. The staff is very well trained.

Location was perfect for walking the city. That is what we wanted. But the wow factor going into this hotel was amazing!! Simply beautiful and friendly staff. Pricey but lovely. I would recommend it for sure
