Ludmilla, the concierge was amazing. The hotel was beautiful and the location was great.

Large bathroom, oddly configured bedroom with only 1 bedside light. Poor lighting. The public part of the hotel is stunning and we enjoyed checking out the opulent state rooms which were all unused and gloomy as curtains were closed. Chandeliers are exquisite. The pool area is lovely. Staff helpful especially at breakfast and the doormen

FANTASTIC - the hotel was a real find and so comfortable, discreet, well located and everything was right on the doorstep - Winter Palace within 5 minutes walk. The room was so comfortable (with the quietest air conditioning I have ever experienced) beautiful marble lined bathroom and VERY comfortable beds. Nothing was too much from the friendly, professional and discreetly attentive staff The restaurant was fairly expensive but with very good quality food and a great atmosphere

Hotel lobby and corridors felt a bit dark and gloomy. As did the pool area. Inwas unsure why the lights were kept so dim because it made for a peculiar atmosphere. The room itself however was fabulous. As was the location.

This is a great hotel in a perfect spot on Nevsky Prospect. We had dinner in the restaurant on our first night. The food was excellent as was the service. There were only four other diners and eventually we had the pianist to ourselves. Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. One of the reception staff who I think was called Anna was very helpful with getting us tickets for the Mikhaylovsky theatre and deserves a mention.. The hotel is within easy walking distance of most of the sights and only a few hundred yards from the Hermitage. As others have said St Petersburg does feel a very safe city and most young people do speak good English. Highly recommend the Taleon and St Petersburg. This is a great city and is worth the effort it takes for the visa. We intend to return possibly during the White Nights.

for those who will use the sidewalks for touring, i doubt any hotel has a better location. this beautiful 5-star hotel is a former palazzo and the 6th-floor endless-style swimming pool is marvelous.

A simply amazing experience staying at this wonderful hotel in the heart of St Petersburg.

Excellent service in a perfect location. Elegant surroundings and tasty breakfast. Concierge was extremely helpful. Highly recommended!

Some of the features of this hotel are first class; the room and its furnishing, the marble bathroom, the large pool and the friendly staff. This all counts for a lot as does the location, distances in St P being greater than you think. The hotel doesn't quite hang together however as a building and the restaurant Victoria we did not find very convivial although we enjoyed our food.
