We've stayed here several times before when visiting friends and family, usually over Thanksgiving. If this year was our first visit, we would've never stayed here again, which will probably be the case after this stay. We downloaded the app to pre-select our room and the app itself is annoyingly unhelpful and took forever to unlock via the digital key, which even disappeared as an option on our last night so it was good my husband had asked for keycards when the app was so slow. Upon entering our room, we were hit with the strongest cleaning chemical smell we've ever encountered in a hotel. It was so bad we both felt unwell and if it wasn't a holiday, we would've asked then and there for another room. Now even on our 4th night, after leaving the wondow open all day, every day, it has just dissipated the the level of a just cleaned room. Ahead of our stay, we knew we needed to print something out so my husband called to confirm we could do so at the hotel but after four attempts to reach someone, we checked the hotel page and it showed a business center would be available. But when we followed the signs for a business center, none could be found. We spoke to the front desk and he said "oh yeah, we got rid of that like a year ago when we remodeled" but a year later not even the website is updated, much less the signs pointing the way to the nonexistent business center. The next morning, we asked the front desk when our room would be serviced because we were only given two towels but they were not able to tell us when across our 4 night stay our room would have house keeping. So I asked for towels to be sent up and for a note to be made that no strong chemicals be used in our room - just towels, trash and maybe a made bed would be more than enough. But when we returned after being gone the entire day, we still had no fresh towels. We asked again for towels and for confirmation that our room wouldn't be doused in cleaning products. This time I was told "we use Mr. Clean, Comet and another product for hard surfaces, which one is the problem?" I'm all of them? Our room still reeked after a full 24 hours. No apologies were made for the chemical smell that made both of us feel ill. I was also told I needed to go back to the room to give the old towels to the person bringing us new ones. At this point we just planned to not have our room serviced the entirely of our stay so we wouldn't have to deal with added chemical smell, we both have sore throats and headcolds when in the room. We had to again go out of our way to have fresh towels - housekeeping would not give them to us even when right outside our door telling us we had to go to the front desk (again) instead. The hotel that was just fine in the past won't be where we stay in the future.

The location was close to downtown. Overall seemed clean, and staff polite.

The toilet wouldn’t flush and no overnight staff available to fix it. Toilet never got fixed during our stay. Shower drained slowly, so you were standing in a bath by the time the shower was done. No hot breakfast available; staff said they were running out of food, so stretching it to try to make it last. Said to come back in 30 minutes, but there wasn’t anything when we came back. Coffee very watered down and took 45 minutes to put fresh coffee out. Couldn’t make coffee in the room because the coffee maker didn’t seem clean. Our room was advertised as a fireplace suite, and the electric fireplace should not be advertised as a feature. I paid more for this room because I thought it had a real gas fireplace and it was basically glowing logs.

Our hotel stay was excellent from the customer service to the room and breakfast. Absolutely no complains, would highly recommend it.
