The Phoenix Hotel Yogyakarta - Handwritten Collection

Phoenix is a pleasure for the eye, its heritage style and the furniture are really something to behold. The room is sufficiently spacious, while the bathroom needs a couple of minor improvements, like having an hook where to hang the bathrobe near the shower. Food quality is something to be improved, while breakfast is really a good one.

The staff is the best asset of the hotel, the team is always very nice in any circumstance. A special mention for Dina and Tira !!!

Please compare the official view of the lovely pool etc with the actual view I got. A cess pit and a 24/7 service station. The room is dirty, fingermarks, stains, rotten wood on the bathroom door, it is too noisy to sleep. No minibar, no snacks, no kimono/ dressing gown. I so regret choosing this place. I have stayed in its sister hotel , the Majapahit, in Surabaya and it was delightful and as promised. This is utter rubbish.

Very nice hotel in the center of Yogyakarta. Many things to do on walking distance. In case you need a taxi for furter distances, these are waiting doe you outside the hotel. The hotel breathes Indonesian authentity and is well maintained. All staff is professional and very friendly. The Paprika restaurant offers a variety of Indonesian dishes as well as Western food. The restaurant staff is very friendly and helpful. In particular Ibu Dina and Ibu Merlin made sire that we had a wonderful evening.

It was a good stay, Verlin is a very nice waitress 🙂. The barbecue dinner was great and also the pool. The massage centre experience has been good too

The breakfast buffet has an amazing selection. The building, garden and location is absolutely enchanting. The only drawback is the deluxe room we booked is overlooking a petrol station that continuously played music all night. On the second night, they have a dog that whines throughout the night. The balcony door is not sealed. If I knew that the room viewing the city will be this noisy I would have tried to book the pool view although it was not clear through expedia if I had that option.

Beautiful historic hotel with incredible service. The pool was refreshing, the food was very good. We also received excellent advice from the travel agent on site and had a marvelous 3 days with a guide. Highly recommend this hotel for a stay in the area.
