Zimmer waren sauber, wenn auch etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr schön.

Ausschlaggebend für die Buchung des Hotels waren die sehr guten Erfahrungen und Bewertungen der Küche. Wir buchten Halbpension und freuten uns auf das erste Abendessen. Was serviert wurde war - ohne Übertreibung - eine Katastrophe. Am zweiten Abend wurde sogar übergegangenes Fleisch mit einer ekelhaft schmeckenden pürierten Pilzsauce aufgetischt. Nicht essbar. Auf unsere Beschwerde erfolgte keine Reaktion. Am nächsten Tag brachten wir unser Anliegen an der Rezeption vor. Wir bekamen angeboten, dass wir 30% auf das A-la-carte-Essen bekommen, jedoch keine Rückerstattung der Halbpension. Auch bekamen wir die Aussage eines MA zu hören, dass Halbpension nur 2. Wahl sei!!! Zur Krönung des 5-Sterne-Restaurants durchquerte am ersten Abend eine riesengroße Ratte den Speisesaal. Die verzweifelte Servicedame versuchte vor den Gästen die Ratte um die Ecke zu bringen, woraufhin die Ratte leicht verletzt erneut zwischen Tischen und unter Stühlen durch das Restaurant lief. In der engen Badewanne liegend, schaute man von unten unter das nicht verputzte Waschbecken. Irgendwie nicht 5 Sterne. Das Schwimmbad war eiskalt, sowohl Raum- als auch Wassertemperatur. Auch kein Bereich, in dem man sich wohlfühlen kann.

The rooms were very clean, housing staff was so nice and cleaned my room every day really well! Everyone is so welcoming and I loved the layout of my room. I can’t say enough good things about this place, it was out of the was of busy tourist places and just a short drive to Funchal. I would definitely stay there again!

Beautiful old house high up on the hills overlooking the sea. Surrounded by productive gardens which produce food, fruits and herbs for the kitchen. Lovely concept and well appointed and friendly. Apart from the Tea and Coffee the breakfasts were excellent and my favorite meal of the day.

I really need tea made in boiling water in the mornings. Here the tea is from water coming out of a coffee machine so not boiling. The coffee machine is indifferent as well. Lovely selection of nuts, honey, homemade jams, cakes cold meats hot buffet and fresh juices and yoghurt all good. Did not like the lack of milk in the tea making facilities in the bedroom and lack of tea bags. Usually had one or two black tea bags a day and only one milk which was a creamer for the coffee. Also a sign saying if we asked for a second tea bag we would be charged €4! The fruit basket was filled with locally grown fruit daily which was big plus.

A fost foarte frumos totul. Gradina era perfecta, personalul foarte de ajutor, conditiile camerei foarte bune, recomand cu incredere aceasta cazare. Micul dejun a fost superb, am stat 7+ zile, si nu ne-am saturat.

Umiditatea de la primul etaj, si faptul ca mirosea putin mucegai, dar e de sine de inteles din conditile climatice si de faptul ca este bazin conectat la casa principala.
