Elite Hotel Mestre Venice

Definitely not a four star...well at least if you did not book directly with the hotel. We were extremely disappointed in Elite Hotel and Spa. Our room looked nothing like the pictures of the two room flat that we booked. My university dorm room was nicer. The pull out bed had a slanted mattress with box springs sticking out. We actually had to put our pillows on the opposite side so the blood did not rush to our heads. There seems to be a 2-tier system where if you book directly with the hotel you get the updated wing of the hotel, while if you book with a 3rd party you get old, tired and sad looking rooms. There was no coffee machine in the rooms as advertised and the walls were extremely thin so you could hear everything around you. When we showed the staff the pictures of the rooms we actually booked, the staff said there were the same rooms but the pictures were just taken from different angles. Again, the room we got looked nothing like the pictures, it was not how the "angles" were shot. We will never come back.

We chose this hotel because the swimming pool and Jacuzzis. But there’s an extra fee to use it. And it’s not cheap. They should at least say it on the booking page.

Ridiculous fee to use pool, 30 EUR per person + 10 EUR to buy a swim cap (required). Only picked this hotel to use the pool, so was sorely disappointed on arrival.

Amazing staff! Hotel was nice and clean. Comfortable bed made it seem like I was back at home.

Lovely hotel, breakfast was amazing every day. Make sure you carefully check the photos of your room, we did not realise there was no privacy for the shower/toilet to the bed… clear glass doors! Was ok as I was with my husband, but not normally something I would choose. Air con was not great.

Loved the service. Hotel was clean and is located in a great area (close to the train station and to the stop to go to Venice). Plus delicious breakfast.

3 min walking to the T1 (tram) that goes to Venice (15-20 min ride). Quiet. Own parking. Clean. We didn't get to the pool but I noticed the staff cleaning the windows every day.

One of our rooms had a slight odor, everything else was excellent
