Hotel Chand Palace

The hotel is good for the first visit due to the budget and its location. But, in the second you maybe change after gaining the experience. The staff try to be friendly cooperated but, the trips of tour assistance is too expensive than the surroundings and its trips are basically for the local citizens not for the forigners.

I stayed in the Chand Palace Hotel for 8 days. I had a most comfortable and enjoyable stay (not that I was ever in my hotel room much as there is so much to do in Delhi!!) The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the hotel will assist in arranging tours and visits for example to Agra if you need to arrange this. The location was very good - only around 5 minutes to New Delhi Railway station by tuk tuk or Rickshaw (you should only pay around 20 rupees during the day and a bit more at night to get to the train station). From Connaught Place it was around 10-15 mins (dependent on traffic). The hotel itself was in the process of being renovated for the pending Commonwealth Games, however the work was only during the day and never early in the morning. The food was excellent at the hotel and very reasonable! Lots of traditional Indian food and also they offered a Continental Breakfast or Traditional Indian breakfast. Overall a great place to stay, very reasonably priced for a budget hotel and excellent service. Thank you Chand Palace! One point to note is that an Air Cooled Room is not an air conditioned room (only a fan and ventilation fan). You will need a room with an AC guaranteed!

Everything was in order at check-in and the process took about 5 minutes total. The rooms had been updated since my last stay and a major renovation was underway. Walls had fresh paint, the bathroom had been totally redone, and although the furniture was dated, it was comfortable and served its purpose. I have stayed at this property a total of 4 times over the past 3 years and would not hesitate returning. The neighborhood is chock full of budget hotels, and is near the train station and many other sights are just a short autorickshaw ride away. The hotel's travel desk is eager to help, as is the front desk. Although there is no restaurant on premises, 24 hour room service is available.

Hotellet renoverades, de bytte rörsystem. Detta innebar att det var sten-slipdamm i luften och dimman låg tät ibland på dagtid. Dessutom började arbetarna vid 7-tiden på morgonen, och det är svårt att sova då de bilar/hackar upp golvet i rummet bredvid. personalen var dock trevlig och försökte vara tillmötesgående.
