Marriott's Aruba Surf Club

The way they tell you it’s ocean view is actually not ocean view. Only a very tiny portion of the view is ocean. Vast of it is the swimming pool. Very deceiving description. The room is clean but need some updating. This place is not what I am expecting coming from a 5 hours flight.

If you enjoy riding the NYC subway system, queuing for premium pool or beach loungers, waiting for elevators and jamming in with a dozen wet or sweaty people, then this is the place for you. It's nothing more that a multi-building apartment complex beachside. Don't misunderstand me, I am an MVC owner in St. Thomas USVI and this property is so much calmer, prettier, an conducive to a relaxing vacation. This was my first time to Aruba. We will return, but we will not stay at this property.

I have been coming here since 2008. The staff isn’t as friendly as in prior years. But More importantly I had my Crocs sandles STOLEN from the pool area. Totally unbelievable!!! Be aware of your belongings, but really stealing MY shoes. That seems like a new low. Signs should be all around to warn people of thievery. I am just wondering how SAFE Aruba has became from its proximity to Venezuela with all their problems.

Such a shame. I’m an owner here and have not been here in a few years since we moved to Phoenix. We were so exited to come back. The resort has changed. We ice has changed. I will be selling when I get back. Just not worth it anymore. No wristbands (sold out supposedly ). Sent me to the Ocean Club to buy some and said they could activate them but ocean club said no chips have changed and they would not sell us one. Old and terrible room. Pallapa reservations changes, overcrowded, over priced. AC turns off when there is no motion so your roast at. Night. Never again. Use to be our favorite place to come not any more.

We have been owners at the Surf Club since 2003, and have seen many changes. I like the towel system, it made getting beach towels easier and convenient. The main issue the Marriott has is the beach palapas. I do agree with the other review saying that owners should have 1st choice. We would have to go online at exactly 5:30pm in hopes of being the fastest by clicking on the palapa that you want. We rented beach chairs from the vendors in the front row on the beach they charge $50 for 4 lounges and an umbrella. Although, we paid $60/day. I’m guessing the worker at the stand took the extra $10 for himself. We will never go during Easter break again, it was just way too crowded for us. The guests during that time were nasty to the staff and complaining about everything. The staff at the Surf Club were friendly and accommodating. The rooms are dated with many upgrades coming, as they will be renovating the Lighthouse Villas this year. Very excited for that. Still a great family destination being super safe and amazing restaurants!

Great vacation hotel for children and family.

What a wonderful experience

Everything was great just hotel staff needs hospitality training especially at restaurants. We stayed in 2 bedroom Villa this was great!

We were 7 adults and one 11-month-old baby. We are long-time owners (since 2003)!! We had our family stay in two 2-bedroom units and we were very comfortable. This was our little grandson’s first visit to Aruba and we just knew he’d love it! He had a blast! My son and daughter-in-law had the full-sized crib and a Jeep stroller brought in from outside. The Jeep stroller was awesome for bringing stuff down to the pool. They also brought their own travel stroller for walking around Palm Beach and going to restaurants. They have a travel car seat, too. Not going to lie — it’s a lot of gear to bring but it was well worth it! The Marriott provided the Pack and Play for the room as well as the high-chair. All was wonderful with our accommodations — as usual. We spent our days poolside and we enjoyed the pool and the lazy river. People were friendly and the resort staff was very professional and friendly. We loved seeing our Security friends again and we so appreciate them. Cedric, Norvlet, and Mavis are wonderful people and do an excellent job!

We love this place. We do lazy river most nights. The pool bingo is a must do. We like the full bedroom so you have a dryer and we do our laundry before we leave so once less at home thing lol. The staff are always friendly . We are going back again amd lookin forward to it
