Gosby House Inn, A Four Sisters Inn

The Gosby House is our favorite B&B in the Monterey area. The rooms are cozy, but clean. They now also have a mini-fridge and TV (which is a nice option even though we don't watch TV there). They provide wine and a charcuterie and fruit tray and cookies in the afternoon from 4-6p. Their breakfasts included an egg dish with pancakes or potatoes the days we were there. They also had a fruit platter, yogurt, oatmeal, cereal, assorted breads/bagels for toasting, and juices. It is only a few blocks from the beach and a couple of miles to Cannery Row. They are less than 10 miles from Point Lobos State Natural Reserve, which has one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world. We were blessed with gorgeous weather and turquoise blue waters, along with sightings of sea otters and sea lions.

We liked staying in an historic inn. The location was great. We walked to the ocean and found many good restaurants within walking distance.

The location is excellent.You can walk to the gorgeous coasline in just a few minutes.Easy to park for free in the street and surrounding streets. So close and easy to drive to Carmel, , Monterey and 17 mile drive.The homemade breakfast is delicious and plentiful. The staff are wonderful and helpful. The rooms are spotless.

Our room was quite small. Pacific Grove is a small quiet town..

There was a huge family reunion happening and it disrupted our sleep and peace throughout the trip. One night there must have been kids jumping at all hours of the night. It would have been courteous for the staff to give us a heads up that such a large gathering would be occurring during our stay.

Staff was very nice. Property was impeccable. We appreciate the room upgrade. Front desk person (we forget her name) made an excellent recommendation for dinner at a walkable place where the food was excellent. My only gripe (and its minimal) is that this was listed as a bed a breakfast. While they did have breakfast, it wasn't anything more or less special than what you would see at any other large hotel chain. Not knocking the breakfast as it was good, but typical a B&B has a breakfast menu that usually has unique offerings that are made fresh to order... at least in our experience. Other than that, this property is well run and I would recommend it as long as you set your expectations to a run of the mill breakfast offering.

Beautiful inn, wonderful location, excellence staff! Really enjoyed our room. The complimentary wine and cheese in the afternoon was wonderful, along with the snickerdoodle and chocolate chip cookies! I usually skip breakfast when I'm staying overnight and there is a complementary service, because it's not worth getting up for a cold bagel and a little pad of wrapped cream cheese and a banana! But I never do that at any Four Sisters Inn (and this one is no exception,) because their breakfast is super good with lots of choices! Set a lovely stay. Such sweet staff.

Expected a bit more for $800 a night like cotton swabs, slippers and another floor mat where the sink area was. There weren't even window screens.
