Beech Tree Inn and Cottage

quaint inn, breakfast is made individually for what you ordered from the menu, that day we had a snow /sleet day and in the morning all the cars were clean of snow/sleet. I would highly recommend this place

The Inn is convenient to just about every point of interest in Newport. No more than a 5-8 minute drive to the Mansions, the downtown restaurants and shops, and the vibrant Broadway neighborhood. Parking was very covenient, the living room had wonderful amenities, breakfast options were plentiful and the room was comfortable with nice touches.

Comfortable, clean, and great location for a reasonable price. Morgan (?) and his dog were very friendly :) Stay included some free alcohol and chips in the sitting front room and a coffee/tea bar. Would have loved to have been able to stay and try the breakfast as it looked to have delicious options.

Jacuzzi in our room did not work. Bathroom has a very low toilet. Needs updating. “To Go” breakfast bag included a brownie and cookie??? Although, there was a small apple, small piece of pumpkin bread, and a very small Kind Bar included.

Beech Tree Inn is a lovely property in a beautiful neighborhood. Quite walkable to many restaurants and shopping. So many things to do! The property owners were there at check in and at breakfast. Breakfast was VERY good with multiple choices. Snacks and drinks in the evening was an unexpected bonus.

That I couldn’t stay a whole week!

You filled out a menu from your room and told the time you would like to have breakfast. There was a variety of choices. I had the French toast with bacon which was very tasty.

Our room was on the third floor and there was no elevator. We used a small carryon bag to avoid hauling a large suitcase upstairs. This worked out well.

Our room in the cottage was very nice and everything seemed very clean and well kept. The breakfast was better than expected with a very pleasant and courteous host that checked on us more than once. Having a parking spot very close to the cottage (where our room was) and being a 20 minute walk from the waterfront and the main drag in Newport was really nice.

It was lovely having a fireplace in our room but it actually put out too much heat (and we didn't see a way to control this). So, we ended up having to open windows and turn on the air conditioner if the gas fireplace was on. And unfortunately it was raining hard the morning we left which made loading our car and walking around to the front building for breakfast a little more difficult. Maybe add an umbrella stand with an umbrella to each room in the closet (though in retrospect, there might have been one in the closet that I missed). Having a curtain to draw in front of the bathtub would have made it more inviting to use for more modest folks.

Breakfast was fabulous! Loved visiting with other guests!
