Beech Tree Inn and Cottage

The house was nicely decorated , breakfast was delicious (especially the French toast). Cassandra made sure we had everything we needed. It was very cozy and charming.

Very comfortable and attractive room. Immaculately clean room and bath. Great location, easy to find and easy to park. Attentive staff that made accommodation for our needs, even helping us get upstairs with our bags. Custom cooked breakfast was delicious! We would definitely stay here again.

Difficult to reach Inn directly when booking the room. Number on website went to a reservation clearinghouse and had different information than Bookings.com so we arrived with unanswered questions. Staff mostly cleared it up when we got there. Only other issue was that we were out all day at appointments from 8:30 until 3. When we got back, at 3PM housekeeping had not been there yet . Cleaning person arrived just as we had lain down to nap, and all she did was bring fresh towels. That was disappointing- we expected to come back to a bed that was made, a fresher bathroom and empty trash baskets. We were too tired at the time to say anything about it at that point so ths is the first anyone is hearing about it.

Beach Tree Cottage is one of those hidden gems you stumble upon in New England and instantly fall in love with. The room was enormous—bright, cozy, and thoughtfully designed. The staff went above and beyond; every interaction felt warm and genuine. We adored the small touches—snacks, coffee, and tea waiting for us, giving the place that perfect home-away-from-home vibe. The fireplace added a romantic, cozy charm, and the location couldn’t be better—just minutes from the ocean and the historic Mansions. We truly felt at home here. A charming little place we can’t wait to return to.

If I had to name a single con, it would be that one evening we could hear the neighbors’ TV a bit—it’s a cottage, after all, so sound insulation can be a little tricky. But the staff handled it immediately and with such grace, and the rest of our stay was perfectly quiet. Truly a gem of a place—we can’t wait to come back!

The staff genuinely care about their guests, and for that we look forward to many more experiences with them.
