Residence Inn by Marriott Halifax Downtown

My recent stay was excellent due to Jasleen as she went above and beyond what was required in order to provide the best customer experience.

Great customer service. Jasleen at the front desk amongst others, was so helpful! The kitchen staffs were very nice as well. The environment was quiet during my stay. The hotel is close to many restaurants and a few minutes walk to the water front.

Good location -friendly staff -good breakfast

Shower didn’t drain well. Was charged for parking but never was told there was a charge while booking or check in.

Badezimmertüre konnte fast nicht geschlossen werden, da es an der Toilette blockierte. Morgenessen für die Hotelkategorie eher mager.

Breakfast good, staff friendly but delivery trucks outside at 4:45 am off loading and making alot of noise. Evenings noise is just as bad. The bar directly across the street has an outside speaker. In you room you can hear word for word the songs. Brutal!!

Was there FRiday night to Monday morning. If you are going for sleep forget it. This hotel is close to several clubs. Friday night was filled with loud people on the street and drunken people easly heard through the hotel windows, It started around 8:30 pm and quieted down around 3:30 AM. SAturday was even worse! The pounding rave music permeated the room and only stopped at 3:30 AM. THe night was also filled with very loud car engines revving motors and an occasional siren . After that the loud drunken people finally quietted down around 4:30 AM. Sunday night was a dream ..almost quiet dare I say! Although I appreciate a hotel in the downtown, the noise was absolutely unacceptable and unless you want to party all night I suggest you find another place to stay! Soundproofing should really be considered for thw windows! It was also intersting that maid service was only every second day, and plates were not allowed to leave the breakfast room for those of us preferring to eat in thier rooms. The front desk phone was not answered for a period of time and just rang. Cleaniness was just OK. Not what I would expect from a Marriot !

Proximity to downtown is a bonus and a curse- very loud!

Payment was complicated and time consuming- they blocked huge amounts off credit card each day
