Ben Nevis Hotel & Leisure Club

The room, bathroom, bar area, outside areas all need significant maintenance and repair. Bath did not work, bar chairs broken, roofing collapses, shoddy workmanship in the bedrooms and corridors. Have paid a 5* price for a 2* facility.

The breakfast was good, plenty of options and were able to serve porridge. The bed was comfy.

The hotel was generally quite bland, shabby and could do with a freshen up. For example the walls and windows were stained and could do with an outside paint, the corridors were tired looking, the sauna and leisure centre was tired looking with worn areas, the water in the shower was not very hot.

Very shabby looking…in urgent need of refurbishment which they to be fair did highlight with notices in certain areas of hotel .

The building was very run down, very little maintenance, our bedroom window lock/handle was hanging off, could not secure the room, the bathroom window was Brocken and could not open with no ventilation, bathroom bath side was falling apart, the loo role holder was Brocken off, no air conditioning. The sign on the hotel was half missing and reminded me of Fawlty towers… the building itself was very much unmaintained. the cost was unacceptable for the condition of the hotel and really should be refunded.

Exterior was not inviting, definitely in need of attention- letters of hotel name missing, paint peeling off, I did select a classic single room, what I didn’t expect was to walk into a “cell” for want of a better description- wallpaper peeling off, poor light and lamp not working, curtain being a flimsy piece of material on a plastic rail that looked like it would fall off the wall if you tried to close it- I would not have minded if I had paid the appropriate amount- but at £190.00 a night room only, I was not impressed! The gentleman on reception did not seem surprised at my request to me moved to another room and couldn’t have done enough for me. However some staff did not have the same attitude.

The gym facilities were nice, with the sauna and stream room. Breakfast was good, was an easy check in.

It was not clean at all outside the room and inside the room!! Parking for the hotel is minimal, had to park where there was no marking on the floor. Breakfast didn’t have a lot of hot food for vegetarians. Hearing other customers talk about their room being infected with moths, that lay eggs and eat your clothes isn’t the best to hear as soon as you are checking in. Was confusing to understand if I had the breakfast and dinner included, on top of the little bites. WIFI didn’t even work in the room. Beside our room was the bar, and I could hear banging against the wall until 10:30 pm, it was constant
