The person that helped us was great his name was manfreddi. Helped us with all our needs. Rooms to my opinion were small for the price. Had the veranda room and actually only had one chair and no couch.

"Disappointed by the Accommodations"

4.0

Dear Mr. Englehart, My husband Tom and I checked into the St. Vincent Hotel on May 9, 2025 (a day filled with heavy rain). Water Everywhere We had booked Veranda King with a larger sitting area, bath with tub, and a balcony. As we were escorted to our Veranda King we passed a long corridor with windows leaking and towels attempting to absorb the water. In addition there was a waste basket there collecting water dripping from the ceiling. When the door was opened to our room, it also had water dripping from the window with towels placed on the sill. It smelled damp. You can imagine how surprised and disappointed we were to find accommodations at the St. Vincent in such distressing conditions. We requested another room but were told the only one available was 424. It is a tiny room with two queen beds, a tiny bathroom, and no veranda. We were informed that we would be here for two nights and then would have to pack up and move to another room on the third night. It was the Superior Suite. While I’d like to say this large suite compensated for the inconveniences we experienced, it did not. First impressions remain first impressions and ours was definitely not positive. As Requested: Suggestions for Improvements !. Repair windows and ceilings to prevent further leaks 2. Tissues should not be placed on the back on toilets especially since they are unboxed. It is unsanitary. Move them to shelf behind sinks. 3. It appears there is only one waste basket per room and it is placed beside the toilet. Even if a guest is in the living room, they have to walk to the toilet area to dispose of unwanted items. Baskets should be near or under the bathroom sink which is much more convenient and hygienic. In larger suites perhaps a second basket could be placed in another room. 4. For women trying to put on makeup, not only is the bathroom lighting dim, but the large mirror over the sink is too far back because of depth of pedestal as well as the several inches of shelving. As in most hotels, there should be a lighted magnifying mirror in the bathroom. 5. If a guest hopes to do any reading, there are few lamps and any overhead lighting is quite dim. For example in the Superior Suite, the very large, high-ceilinged bedroom has one tiny lamp on one side of the bed. While the hotel’s goal may be to create a certain vibe, reconsider lighting as not everyone wants to be ensconced in a dimly lit space. 6. The corridors are painted in a dark color and again the lighting is dim which raises the question of what is being hidden. Between the water dripping, stains on the carpet and chips on the paint, these halls look dreary and dirty. Perhaps a refresh is needed. 7. Quality is in the details and one place that I often note are elevator thresholds. Those in the St. Vincent look like they haven’t been cleared in a long time. They should be vacuumed and polished often so that they contribute not only to a positive first impression but also reflect the hotel's attention to detail and quality of its maintenance. My husband and I travel extensively and stay in lovely hotels which is why I’ve taken the liberty of describing our unfortunate experience and pointing out areas for improvement. Please let me know if you have any questions.
