Wouldn’t have wanted the sad, tired and small room, with a view of the fire escape, that my cousins was allocated

Location.

Dated room and badly dated worn ripped carpet on stairwell. Breakfast was poor in quality. Was told some limited parking was available when infact no parking for visitors as its used for staff. Fire alarm went off at midnight with everyone evacuated and not even a single word of apology for the inconvenience of a false alarm especially as we had a child with us.

Nice selection of cold and hot options,haggis was exceptional and porridge a tastey starter.Hotel is ideally located at the heart of town.

Visiting for work, I needed somewhere central with car parking. Oban is renowned as somewhere you’ll struggle to get parked. I found a space at the rear and check in was quick and easy. Staff were friendly. I noted the hotel to be busy with coach trips with older clientele which was a positive sign. If it’s good enough for my granny, it’s good enough for me! Haha The bar menu was decent and again, waiting/bar staff were pleasant and friendly. The food was good and reasonably priced. The rooms and internal corridors are a bit dated. Old carpets but the rooms had everything I needed. The bathroom was refurbished and fresh. I’d recommend if visiting for work or tourism. A perfectly passable hotel with nice staff.

Friendly, helpful staff and perfect location

It was exactly what we expected from an old fashioned Victorian hotel. We arrived very late and it was lovely to be greeted by a charming guy on reception. Perfect fly positioned for catching an early morning ferry.

The room was small but adequate and it suited our needs as we were only there for 6 hours
