Nice quiet hotel just a little far out for us but other than really nice

We actually stayed at the Montagne Guest House, it's entrance being on the main road into Kampot. but our room was located more to the rear of the property; no traffic noise. Breakfast is taken in the main part of the hotel complex ( Montagne Residence ) a two minute walk from the guest house. The morning breakfast is served from 7.00am to 10.00 and was excellent ; a choice of either Asian or American. The two swimming pools are also located in this section of the complex. No problems.

When you approach the Montagne Guest House from the front (on the main road) you could get the impression of a run down joint. The facade needs a face-lift, but don't be misled by the appearance. Once inside you will be pleasantly surprised. The guy on reception (Sunday pm) on our arrival was like getting blood from a stone, I needed to keep prompting him for information. He told us breakfast is served 7.00am to 12.00 noon. Really !!! Luckily, on our first morning, we got into the restaurant just before 10.00am. and obviously claimed our brecky. Fifteen minutes later could have been a different story.

Beds hard. Skirtings in dining room really dirty. Plug hole in hand Basin very dirty.

My room had no windows, it felt quite claustrophobic

The staff are all so nice and helpful! They helped me book a tour (which was so much fun, I learned a lot and had a blast) and book my bus going back to Siem Reap. It was seamless. They also helped me with my laundry even though I just gave it to them the day before I left so it was a little rushed. The restaurant staff are also so accommodating and nice. And the restaurant itself was just so airy and fresh. Thanks for a great stay!
