The Sungu Resort & Spa

Enjoyed our stay at Sungu. Located away from the busy town of Ubud but still within easy walking distance. Resort also offers a very convenient transport service in and out of town when you need it.

very average hotel

The hotel was very pleasing and at a great location within walking distance to town, the staff were always pleasant, the free area shuttle service was useful and the room was always clean when we returned. The only bad thing about it I can think of was that the shower was cold and one of the bedside lamps didn't have an on/off switch and the cabling looked unsafe. Though after notifying the reception, they had electricians come fix the lamp almost immediately and also informed us the shower took 15min to warm up which was better then no hot water at all.

Nice place but for the price expected more. Staff have very poor English. Try to be helpful but often get it wrong as just don't understand what is being requested.

A delightful resort with charming staff who went out of their way to help you. Excellant breakfasts and the shuttle to main attractions a bonus.

Very welcoming and comfortable villa, our second stay here, it's the perfect place to relax with Ubud on your doorstep, we spent a lot of time swimming with our toddler, we stayed in 2 bedroom 2 story villa with outdoor style bathroom overlooking pool with private courtyard, very pleasant and looking forward to when we visit again....

Great location in Ubud you, shuttle very useful when you don't want to walk. Comfortable and relaxing.

We arrived to a warm welcome and a welcome drink in a champagne glass. Grounds were beautiful. We took pictures every way we turned. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating. I was interested in a full moon festival and one of the staff personally took us to a ceremony that there were no other tourists attending. We needed sarongs and he even provided those and female staff members helped us to tie them correctly. Breakfast was efficient, beautifully presented and delicious. Pools were made for photos. The grounds were lush and well maintained. Complimentary transportation into Ubud city center is available all day long till 10 pm. The only negative thing is the walk into the city center is difficult. It is about a 10 minute walk. But roads are narrow, hilly and very busy. Maps do not tell the whole story. It is possible. We are walkers, but desired the ease and safety of the complimentary transportation. Cannot say enough good things about this place. The perfect place to land after a long journey to Bali.
