Gurnee Motel

Oh boy, you get what you paid for ! That’s the saying that comes to mind. Geeze how is this place still standing I have no idea. I need to open my own hotel because it seems like anyone can. The room was horrid, sheets if they was washed then they need new sheet, the mattress was something you would find on the side of the free way. We brought our own cover to lay down with. The bathroom omg, when was the last time that was cleaned, the electrical socket 2 of them worked. I can go on but I digress.

Staff was ok but the second you put your key in the door and begin to open the room your whole life will change. Literally had lamps busted and hanging from wall and both beds were covered with cigarette burns. You didn’t even know which spot to lay on the bed because of all the stains. Which spot was cleanest or which part of the covers had less burns to maybe keep you warm. The ac was missing every button so you had absolutely no clue what it was doing. Didn’t even want to shower or use the bathroom just honestly wasn’t worth the fight to try and get a refund. State honestly needs to shut them down. This place shouldn’t been on any travel sites. I feel terrible for the next family that tries to save money worst experience ever and I don’t even know what I left with after laying in the bed.

The beds were not made and it was super dirty

Hotel cancelled my reservation before I arrived. Had a noticed posted on wall that check-in must be between 3-6pm or reservation would be cancelled. This was not disclosed on policy listed with Hotels.com. Had to scramble to find a different hotel. Totally unacceptable. Still have not received refund after 6 days. While in the lobby I was quite disturbed by who unclean/rundown the hotel was. Do not stay here!!!

This was the worst hotel I have honestly have ever seen there was no one at the front desk to check in and the number provided on the desk to call to check in was no good I wasted my time and money on the awful place and do not recommend this being on any website for booking!!!

Gurnee Hotel booked me a room and took my money. Upon checking was informed there was no rooms availible. Took until 3am to get a refund and it takes a week. Leaving me and my pregnant fiance in the car all night without a room.

I have never stayed in a worse hotel. Got a discount online and didn't think I could regret spending $45 on a hotel but this one definitely changed my mind. When I checked in the smell was absolutely awful. Just off the desk of the lobby was in the area where they had bed linens stacked sky high, just piled in wrinkled bunches. The questionable ice machine had mold growing I in the bottom where the grate was missing and an old hotel key lay. The smell in the halls was bad but didn't compare to how bad the room stunk. I went to turn on the lights and the 1st was broken.
