Layana Resort and Spa

We had an absolutely wonderful stay here. From the moment we checked in, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome.

It's not obvious from the descriptions that this is a small, intimate resort. I would guess they have at most 100 guests, yet they have probably 40 staff. That makes for an incredibly high level of personal attention. If you are looking for beach bars and night life, this is not it. If you're looking to get away from the madness of the world while still surrounded by luxury, this is the place. In Hawaii equivalency, this is Kawaii, not Waikiki. Also, in general, I hate "organized fun" because it's too cheesy. Yet every event they organized was low key, classy and in good taste. It goes without saying that the food was great, the grounds immaculate and the surroundings pristine.

We have recently returned home after a 13 night stay at Layana. The location is stunning - right on the beach and it was amazing to sit and have breakfast or dinner with your toes in the sand! We were very happy with our room, which was clean and modern with a large bathroom with a great shower. Good air con and also ceiling fans. We enjoyed the dinner events arranged by the hotel- Thai Buffet and Beach BBQ with fire show. We felt the standard evening menu at the restaurant was limited if you are a vegetarian or non fish eater. We were also a bit disappointed that sunbeds were regularly reserved from 7am, with sometimes people not using them until midday. I had a massage at the spa which was wonderful. All the staff without exception were incredibly friendly and eager to ensure you had everything you needed. The reception staff looked after us on our departure and brought forward our transfer as there were long delays reaching the ferry. We also had assistance at Krabi airport by a Layana representative, which was a nice touch. All in all we had a lovely holiday and would return in a heartbeat.

Fantastic resort with direct access to a very nice beach. Rooms are very nicely designed and decorated with a modern touch. A perfect piece of garden with sun beds, parasol and some seats. Very friendly and service oriented staff. A perfect choice!

Fabulous immaculate hotel with such welcoming staff. Right on the beach with beautiful sunsets to admire with a drink in hand each evening. You will relax here and enjoy!

5 Stars out of 5! What can’t i say about this beautiful resort and the staff, lead fearlessly by their amazing GM Franc. From the moment we arrived by boat directly onto the stunning beach all expectations were exceeded! Rooms impeccable, both pools stunning, sunsets each evening spectacular whilst enjoying the hotels happy hour each evening, and breakfast each morning offered something different each day. Coffee was great too! We loved it so much we will be back again next year.

My wife and I from CA, USA stayed here for a week and it was incredible stay! From the moment we got off the plane in Krabi and greeted by a Layana transportation employee to the time we landed on the beach via a Layana boat and greeted by a few staff on management it was incredible! Laila was our point person for our stay and she handled all of our needs via WhatsApp messenger! She was incredible! The resort is almost off the charts! It is beautiful!! We stayed in an Ocean Villa which was off the charts!! I’d highly recommend a villa if available even though all the other rooms are nice as well, since someone we met showed us their accommodations. Most all of the other guests were so friendly. The buffet breakfast was super nice. I can’t say enough about the staff they are above and beyond nice. What was impressive is the GM Frank personally was onsite almost everyday making sure All guests were happy and introduced himself to every guest and so did his assistant GM Toni. Those two were great but my hat goes off to all the employees to name a few and for those I’ve forgotten but all of you made our trip extremely special. From my beach crew Nan, Guy, No Name:), Kung, Feen. We did a snorkel trip one day that was incredible highly recommend it was picturesque! The food at the resort was great and prices were fair but not cheap. Rent a scooter highly recommend think it was around $5 for a day so just do it for your entire stay. The location is not too busy so it was easy for us to get around on the scooter and felt safe because not a lot of traffic. There were two great restaurants outside the resort I highly recommend. Danny’s I believe was the name and Shanti Beach House! Great value and great owners!! We were there a week and I’d say that was about right. Being from CA we love the beach and can relax for hours and hours on the beach and this place is fantastic for that. The beach is beautiful and lots of room from the resort to the water line. I will say there are other resorts on each side going all the way down the beach and Layana sticks out like a rose compared to all others. I will say once you scooter or walk out of the resort it’s definitely 3rd world which is reality. We liked seeing all the different things around and sure enjoyed returning to Layana after adventuring.

Our experience at Layana far exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we knew we made the right choice! Can’t wait to go back!!

We have just returned from a 9 nights stay at the Layana. We couldn’t fault the hotel, everything and everyone is fantastic. The well organised team is led by manager Frank who is always visible and on hand if you need support or tips! Every member of staff is a credit to the hotel but a special mention to Nuch, Dart and Khom who went above and beyond every time they saw us! We did the hotel run snorkel trip which was well worth the money and was run by a brilliant boat crew. Thank you team Layana we will be back!
