"Cute little B&B(ish) close to the Riverwalk"

8.0

We drove in from Oklahoma for the Rock n' Roll Marathon. Overall, we really liked the property and location. It was close to the Riverwalk and there were many restaurants nearby. We got in later in the evening so all of the street parking was taken for approximately 4 blocks because the area is busy at night. We parked our truck behind the building but the parking is very tight. Smaller cars fit but navigating the drive can be tricky. We moved our truck and left it in the street for the remainder of our stay once parking was available. There were a few random drinks and some coffee grounds in the mini fridge but breakfast is not included at all for Expedia members. There was also a microwave and coffee pot in the room. The thermostat is locked and hidden behind the decor. We had to find a fan in a closet to cool the room at night since we couldn't find the thermostat initially. The owner came in the next day to adjust the temperature to what she saw fit. It helped some but we still ran the fan at night. We spent a day walking around the town. We saw the Alamo (entry was free) and checked out the Riverwalk. It was beautiful, especially lit up for Christmas. This is a great choice for keeping it local in SATX, just know that there are breakfast restrictions even for non-third party travelers and that parking is tricky.

"I loved my stay at the bed and breakfast. "

8.0

I enjoyed my stay at the bed and breakfast mainly for the privacy and the "home" feeling to it. I felt like I was living at home and not at some hotel. I was able to park my small 4 door car in the small spaces in the back of the property. Restaurants, good ones I might add, attractions, were all just a few blocks away. If I needed to go farther I could call Uber or Lyft for a small fee compared to what you pay for at the parking garages downtown. The room itself was very clean. There was everything in it that was described in the hotel amenities. I had made all my arrangements with Deb, over email. I didn't get to see her during my stay, but I briefly talked to her over the phone at checkout. This was my first time at a B & B and it was a completely different checking in/out process from what everyone's used to when going to an hotel. Deb gave me instructions on how to check in, and as my guest and I entered the room it was all nice and neat. Deb left us notes in several areas. There were instructions for the television, the coffee maker, for the shower and a guidebook on local places to visit. The only things that I didn't like was that I wasn't able to control the temperature in my room, but she had a heater and a fan in the room so that made things work. Other than this I really liked the place. I wish I could have stayed longer. My room, Provence, had a big shower and hot tub. My guest and I really enjoyed that. We also loved having the small deck outside to hang out in.

"Cute B&B close to Riverwalk"

10.0

I stayed here while visiting a close friend and we absolutely loved it. It's close to the mall, Tower of America, and the River Walk. The street was quiet, and there was a great tea house right around the corner (Mad Hatter's) and less than a mile from the Guenther House. I would've expected to pay a lot more than I did for such a nice place. The owners are always around and happy to help with anything. This is where I'll stay whenever I go back to San Antonio.

"Had a wonderful three night stay!"

10.0

Wonderful stay in a historic section of town. Walking distance to many close by restaurants and to the River Walk. Only $5.55 to Uber back and forth to downtown if you want. Room was very nice and clean. Would definetly recommend to anyone new/old who enjoys bed and breakfast accommodations.

"Lovely and affordable!!!"

10.0

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. The neighborhood was lovely and the river was only a few blocks away. While it's a 20 minute walk to the more touristy bits, we found lots of great places to eat nearby. Coming back from the Riverwalk at night was OK but the second night we took a cab back from the Alamo. It was under $7, a small price to pay for the $100+ per night we saved over the larger hotels. The owners were friendly and offered to help in any way they could. Parking was a little tight but manageable. Breakfast wasn't included with our rate but we had great meals nearby. I would look forward to staying here again and would definitely recommend.

"Great way to avoid hotels"

10.0

Overall an excellent stay. Very accommodating hosts, outstanding room. Only minor quirks: A bit detached from easy restaurant access and such (15 minute walk), and wifi was sketchy (out one night for a couple hours), last night there it was out for some time, and quite minimal when I left.

"Exceptional"

10.0

Lovely room, stayed in their small flat with a lovely small lounge area and kitchen. Bed was utterly giant and practically needed a stepladder to get onto - slept like a log, though. Great that had it's own entrance onto the drive as could come and go without worrying about disturbing others. Warm, clean, everything you could ask. No breakfast though, so make enquiries if you want this. Location is wonderful, King William district has plenty of eating choices if you want to try local (highly recommend Frank, inside a converted old chapel), and beautiful period buildings. Short walk into town along the river, lovely. If you fancy a bit of a longer wander, can just follow the river from King William south to the Missions, which is nice if you have a spare half day or so.

"Lovely place. "

Within walking distance of the River Walk. We were in the Carriage House, which has a kitchen as well as a living room, bedroom and bathroom. Very quiet neighborhood.
