Понравилось всё. Расположение удобное (от вокзала можно дойти пешком), приветливые и заботливые хозяева все показали и рассказали. Брали ужин и завтрак, все было вкусно. С удовольствием погрелись в офуро перед ужином. Футоны очень комфортные, одеяла вообще мягчайшие. И отдельная благодарность хозяевам за то, что помогли нам разобраться с оплатой!

I proprietari sono persone carinissime e molto disponibili: fin dal primo momento ci siamo sentiti come a casa. La struttura era pulitissima e tenuta con grande cura; si percepisce chiaramente che i proprietari mettono il cuore in quello che fanno. Avevamo sempre a disposizione del tè verde caldo e il futon era davvero molto comodo. Inoltre, la vicinanza alla stazione ci ha permesso di muoverci con grande facilità e flessibilità.

Mi è piaciuto tutto. Forse gli orari di chiusura della struttura potrebbero risultare un po’ limitanti per alcuni ospiti, ma per noi non hanno rappresentato alcun problema, non avendo esigenze particolari in merito.

1) The location, the traditional atmosphere. The ryokan is beautiful (140 years old), in the center from Kyoto and only 15 minutes from Kyoto train station. 2) The owners were to some extent helpful and welcoming. They helped us to send our suitcases through Takyubin services. 3) The room was super clean, the beds comfortable and we had our own bathroom and toilets. 4) We have also been welcomed by a nice cup of green tea with little rice cookies.

We paid 332€ for 2 nights (2 persons so around 83€/person). 1) They welcomed us by telling us the rules to respect, the main one being the curfew hours : from 7am until 11pm. It is not possible to leave before 7am and we had to come back before 11pm. No keys are provided. 2) We insisted on having access to the beautiful bath / Sento bath we saw on the pictures and after a while, the owner accepted. 3) We asked if there was breakfast that we could pay for and was provided and they said they didn't do it. When we checked out, we saw they were preparing breakfast for a customer and going to his/her room. 4) The room was big and nice but next to a loud street so we had to wear earplugs. 5) There were drinks (to buy) available in a fridge but we didn't know. Overall the stay was OK but we felt there were more rules to be aware of, than nice services that could be provided (breakfast, Sento bath, drinks ...).

Staying at Yadoya Kikokuso was a truly special and meaningful experience. The opportunity to live within a traditional Japanese room, to sleep on a futon, and to immerse oneself in such an authentic setting is a rare cultural gift. The room was beautiful, serene, and rich in atmosphere, allowing me to experience a way of living deeply rooted in Japanese tradition. Every space in the ryokan is thoughtfully maintained and full of quiet beauty — from the guest rooms to the breakfast room, which is itself a peaceful and elegant place to begin the day. There is a feeling throughout the ryokan of time being gently suspended, creating an atmosphere of calm, respect, and contemplation. The kindness and courtesy of the owners added greatly to the experience. Their warmth, discretion, and care made me feel welcomed and respected, and contributed to the sense of staying in a place guided by tradition and genuine hospitality. Yadoya Kikokuso is not just accommodation, but a cultural experience — one that I will remember with gratitude and that I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone wishing to experience the timeless soul of Kyoto. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and took wonderful care of us. The food was excellent and beautifully prepared and served. The common spaces, eating areas, and room were all lovely and regularly cleaned.

The futons were not the most comfortable of those on which we slept among the ryokan at which we stayed.

Everything was perfect. We loved our stay and enjoyed the breakfast as well.

They are so cute, the most genuine host ever. The ryokan is incredible, we love everything about it and about Kyoto. Amazing trip
