Spark by Hilton St. Augustine Historic District

Check in was fine. Parking available but with a fee. Elevator jerks and needs some repainting. Confortable bed, good AC. Breakfast is very limited. Coffee is soso. Location is great and close to historical area.

Excellent property and staff

Location is close to attractions. Clean, comfortable rooms and central areas. Staff was friendly. Continental breakfast provided. 24 hour coffee and tea. Convenient hygiene items, shampoo, soaps and lotion provided.

Expensive pay to park at the hotel, ice machines only on higher floors. No ice buckets or ice bucket liners in the room. Pool was too warm, had debris and not enough shade umbrellas and one was broken. No hot items for breakfast.

Staff is rude and belittling. One staff member rolled her eyes at my wife. Bill in the end showed an up charge for Balcony room. I booked for a baloncy room at a certain price and expected to pay what I booked. Had i known there would be an up charge, I would've decided then what I wanted. The cashier Suzanne that checked us in even called me 4 hours after we left to say she mentioned it, which I'll be filing a corporate complaint. We'd been staying there since it was the Villa Victor...with same rude staff then and now. We kept booking there for the location and sentimental reasons.

The hotel was clean And the staff was friendly. The room was just very humid, it is July in Florida so makes sense but the floor - even the carpet always felt wet. We kept our shoes on at all time’s other than to sleep. The coffee bar was a nice touch and tasted great!

We did an over night with 3 kids in one room with 2 double beds. It was a great location for us. It was a super close walk to the everything but kind of off to the side which worked great for us. The morning was great for the kids with the free breakfast. Super simple and not very busy as my kids can be really loud and are up and down. It was fresh and a great stop off for the night.

Good location and price, but the overall stay left a lot to be desired. Initially entering my room it seemed clean but when I pulled the table out I discovered it was filthy underneath, the tap water to include the shower smelled burnt, as if the boiler was going out. The elevator was clunky and slow to open sometimes, and there is only one washer and dryer so you are better off going to a laundromat if you need laundry. But the staff was nice, and you really can’t beat the location except for directly on the beach (it’s across the street from Ripleys and a short walk from the old town).
