There are a lot of noisy things that are happening in the area like construction and large groups on unhoused people chilling outside. Would not be a problem if the windows were all shut, however, one of the windows in the sunroom attached to the suite was stuck open when I arrived and I was unable to close it. I instead had to close the doors that opened to the sunroom to mute the sounds from outside and keep the room from getting hot because all the cool air from the A/C was just escaping and allowing hot air in. The main door to the suite also needs some maintenance because every time I opened and closed it, it was incredibly loud, and I felt bad disturbing others in the hotel. Overall, not the worst experience I’ve had in a hotel, but no where near the best. Please look into doing maintenance of doors and windows in your facility, it is both for comfort and safety.

"Not a walkable area"

1.0

The decor was unique and could've been very beautiful, it felt like stepping into a time capsule. Would make a great haunted house.

Everything else. There was no off-street parking or dedicated unloading zone. This, I acknowledge, was my fault, and I should've looked at the listing better for parking details. What I never considered was the gathering of homeless people on the retaining wall right next to the front entryway and the person passed out in the grass on the corner. As well as the gas station across the street being what looked like a hot spot for begging and other activities. There was no front desk person to speak with or report these issues to, so we left and found a different hotel downtown. I recommend considering what your goal is for your visit. This is not a walkable area, there is road construction all around. This is not what we were looking for.

"Sad."

3.0

Room had some classic character and it was nice having two sleeping areas.

Found garbage left in the rooms (included old, open rubber package), no staff available, drug paraphernalia and unsavory characters outside the hotel at all times, hotel was surrounded by garbage, and parking was nonexistent. I don’t know Denver very well, but Colfax looked like the ugliest road in the city.

The Holiday Chalet is a unique and beautiful property. If you're looking for something untraditional this is it! The neighborhood and Pete's restaurants around the corner are awesome. I enjoyed the eclectic neighborhood vibe. This place is a must stay! Ps.. it's close to Denver Botanic Garden and Red Rocks. Peace. The Guerra's 🙌🏽

Nothing! Everything was all good.

"Beware! Stay away!"

2.0

One of the worst experiences I have had in a while. The pictures on the website are nothing of what the hotel actually looks like. Lets start with the outside. First of all it says there is parking for their guests.....there is not. If your lucky to find a parking on the street nearby, your blessed but don't count in it. Second, the hotel is really hard to see because it falls in with a bunch of liquor stores and sketched out gas stations. There were homeless people hanging out in the front of the hotel as well as a couple of prostitutes. The door to get into the hotel didnt even work. There was a sign saying read the sign to the left, but there was no sign to read so we had no idea how to get in. After struggling I attempted to call someone for help but there is no human being on this property to assist with anything nor do they answer their phones. We finally got inside the building only to find that the suite we booked was not the suite we were given. I booked and paid for the Albert 4 suite with a kitchen. We got a stinky old room with a 2nd unneeded bedroom, a mini fridge, microwave and an ancient coffee maker. After hearing a commotion outside we decided to get dinner only to find a homeless person asleep in the back of our truck which was parked two blocks away! That was the final straw. We grabbed our bags and didnt even stay at this place. We ended up driving home overnight. Ibhighly reccomend staying away from this place. The pictures they post are bs.

"Pleasant, most likely won't return."

6.0

The rooms were very nice and home like.

Populated area for drug users. Construction right in front of the property. No parking or offered pay parking lots near property. The fridge/freezer in 2 rooms didn't work, we did get a new room my daughter didn't ask for one. Unable to use the back patio area, locked up.

Charming room with antique furniture. Comfy bed. Shower with good pressure and hot water.

Bathroom - no cold water in sink, only the hot water tap produces water and it was cold only - no bath mat - water pools in the bath when shower is on and doesn't drain away quickly - exhaust fan in bathroom goes on with light and is very noisy - nowhere in bath area to place soap or shampoo & conditioner or body wash. Had to reach across to basin edge Kitchen - Dishwashing detergent but no sink plug or tea towel - no wine glasses Bedroom - desk chair has broken front leg/wheel is detached on one leg. - iron provided in wardrobe but no ironing board Neighbourhood is very dodgy, but not the fault of the property. We felt a little unsafe walking to local restaurants/shops.

"We were able to check in early after driving 12+ hours to get to Denver with absolutely no issues, the room was super cl"

I enjoyed the fact the decorations in there made it feel more cozy and older style to fit the style of the building itself. It was very clean and everyone was respectful

Really no issues other than the hard parking
