The room was fine but there is no on site personnel. You get in while punching in a code at the entrance with homeless literally on the steps to the front door about 5 feet away. I moved to another hotel for the rest of the weekend. Moved to a Hilton Inn on Welton Street which was 1000 % better

Its a beautiful hotel, not fancy but definitely was a old Victorian home once upon a time. Bed was shockingly comfortable.

"Just Don't"

2.0

Not much

Where do I start with this place? There was no air conditioning in our room despite it being advertised as having AC. There was a bracket on the wall next to the TV where it looked like there used to be a thermostat, but it was missing. When it came to opening the windows, we didn't really have a choice, since 2 of the windows were stuck open when we got there, which contributed to the worst part of our stay: the noise. It was impossible to get any sleep here. Sirens and loud vehicles going up and down the street all night, people playing extremely loud music, and homeless people full on screaming at each other until 2 or 3 in the morning. The last night we were there, I got to overhear a man having seizures and getting loaded into an ambulance, directly under the window I was trying to sleep next to (which was stuck open). We did not feel safe here at all. There were almost definitely some drug deals and possibly some solicitation happening right outside the hotel. Apart from all that, the place itself was a little run down. The rotting wooden floor boards creak with every step you take, the furniture creaked whenever you sat on it, and the doors were tighly fit and screached when you opened or closed them. We even had to buy our own batteries for the TV remote to be able to use it. I cannot believe I paid as much as I did for 3 sleepless nights at this place. Tl;dr Stay the hell away from this place.

The television did not work correctly. There was no volume the area around. It was unsafe. There were homeless people everywhere and the 7-Eleven even had a warning sign of recording people that I could hear from my window. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. I was told that I would get at least 50% off my stay.

"Mediocre at best"

6.0

It was fine, a place to sleep…it was loud, there were a ton of homeless people. I feel like it would benefit from having someone onsite, the homeless sit around on the steps, making it super uncomfortable when trying to get in/out. The tv volume didn’t work on the remote, subtitles only. The coffee cups were dirty.

"A hotel with some charm in a terrible place"

4.0

The hotel has already (snarkily) responded to others who have complained about the homeless situation, stating that "all cities have homeless problems." Okay but this particular corner of Colfax and High Street is unbelievably bad. Parking on the street was super limited and you had to walk past what can only be called absolute squalor to get to the front door. Inside, the hotel is not without its charms (but is without any staff) and you'll definitely need to make use of the complimentary earplugs and eye masks they leave you in order to get any sleep. I took my earplugs out around 3 am hoping the zombie apocalypse outside would have calmed down, (which it mostly had except the occasional person screaming). The hotel inside was pretty clean actually but unfortunately the chemical products they use are overpowering and we got out of there as fast as we could in the morning. Switch to some more eco-friendly cleaning products. If I were the owners of this hotel, I'd be going to every City Council meeting I could and demand that Denver clean up the scene around my business. Are there no police in this town? If it sounds like I am being too harsh here, please note that I have left out some of the worst things we saw. Not just homelessness, but prostitution, drugs, public nudity, and the biggest mess on a street corner I've ever walked past. Also the listing says, " ... all while being pampered by the top-rated helpful staff." What? There's literally nobody there!
