Vacation Village at Williamsburg

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was disappointing from start to finish. Prior to my stay, I experienced an emergency involving my dog that prevented me from arriving on my original check-in date. I attempted to contact the hotel overnight but was unable to reach anyone. When I arrived the following day, I was informed that I would be charged a late check-in fee, despite my efforts to notify the hotel. After waiting approximately 40 minutes in the lobby, I was finally given a room key. Unfortunately, the room I was assigned had not been cleaned or prepared for guests. The bed was unmade, chairs were scattered throughout the room, and there was leftover food both in the refrigerator and on the counters. It was clear that the room had not been turned over between guests. I returned to the front desk and was assigned a different room. While this room appeared more prepared, it had a strong odor of mold and stale. The bathroom was not particularly clean, the bathtub dripped throughout the night, and the room had an unpleasant smell that was eventually traced to a garbage disposal full of old food debris that had clearly not been cleaned. The issues extended beyond the guest room. The bathrooms in the pool area were dirty and poorly maintained throughout my stay. The most frustrating part of the experience occurred during checkout. After a tournament was canceled, the hotel had been instructed to refund the unused nights. When I attempted to check out, I was told there was a checkout deadline that had not been communicated until after the fact. After more than an hour of discussions with management, I was eventually refunded for the unused nights. However, the late check-in fee was never refunded, despite the fact that my room was not even ready when I arrived. Between the cleanliness issues, poor room conditions, lack of communication, and the difficulties resolving billing concerns, this stay fell far below expectations. I cannot recommend this property based on my experience.

Daytime staff was very friendly and eager to help And the security guard on duty the night of 6/4 was the kind and very helpful as well.

Great, comfortable apartment. Nice pool. Just minutes from Colonial Williamsburg and not far from the Jamestowne Settlement.

I was looking forward to my first timeshare experience. Unfortunately the sales agent was extremely rude and manipulative. He was forcing us to extract with him and control the situation. He made it very uncomfortable for us to complete the tour.
