Hotel Le Canada

We arrived very late due to problems with the ferry's engine. All we did was sleep, have a shower and then left before breakfast.

Adequate for our stay, however was remote from main village, closest restaurant was not within walking distance. No regular public transport available other than a Taxi service. Otherwise Rooms clean and comfortable.

We used this hotel on our arrival in France from the ferry - we arrived late at night. We rang the bell on the front entrance and were told our room number and directed to the side entrance which was unlocked. We didn't see any of the hotel staff until the following morning. The proprietor was very friendly and spoke good English. There were croissants and bread on the tables for breakfast and in addition there were various buffet items to choose from.

I stayed here during my tour of the WWII sites. The staff is very friendly and assisted me in getting the best room for the Internet and even helping me connect. The only downside is that they must have turned off the heat, (and it was rather cold in the room).

Very clean simple hotel. Excellent friendly staff , comfortable basic room and a good breakfast. I would stop there again.

Great value. Very clean and comfortable room, free parking, friendly staff. I stayed one night at the start of a bike tour. Right next to the seafront but very little nearby with one bar, a bistro and a pizza restaurant within walking distance (it was early April). Visited nearby Caen about 10km away, which is quite pretty and has excellent bars, cafes and restaurants.

There were no drink making facilities in the room and nothing available. We checked in by phone and never saw a person. There did seem to be a bar area but we could not get into the main body of the hotel.

I did not meet the owners as we communicated through an outside phone which was unusual but they were helpful. The parking area is small and straight onto the main road into ouistrham. Access is up some narrow stairs at the side. It was near the beach but no other facilities nearby. For meals the main port terminal is open for most hours unless you are eating at lunchtime. There are no coffee making facilities as in many continental hotels but hairdryer provided in the room. I am likely to book again.

Not a bad hotel for the price. Breakfast is NOT included in the price. Staff was friendly enough and will accommodate you if you are going to arrive late.
