Pros: Excellent location: sandwiched between El Prado Museum and El Retiro Park, just 3 blocks south of La Puerta de Alcala. Very friendly and courteous staff. Palatial decor, fittingly, with a grand dame feel. Very spacious bedroom and the largest bed I've ever seen (comfortable mattress and pillows too); a stunning ceiling fresco. Breakfast was simple, yet well-executed and delicious.

Cons: No pool. TV selection was lacking, particularly without the option of streaming services.
