What a nonsensical survey. At present it is impossible to travel outside Australia so I did not go to Riga. I tried to cancel this booking but was told no refund was available, so I let it go.

Really large room, in the old city, excellent staff.

Very friendly staff. Excellent location near the Christmas market. Wonderful roof top restaurant with excellent food.

It’s position in the old town ,front of house staff were helpful and the breakfast was ok

The hotel is ideally located next to the Dome Cathedral. A gentle 10 min stroll from the main stop of the hop on and off bus stop service. 100 m away from the Dome square Xmas market. could not ask for a better location. The hotel has oodles of character In every nook and cranny with oak beams uneven floors in th3 bedrooms in the old part and is not for plastic modern hotel lovers. The reception staff especially Lev could not have been more helpful and polite,

We loved the old style rooms. Breakfast was amazing. home made cakes were fab. cooked breakfast buffet was plentiful Levs, on reception was brilliant- re local info, helped us check in for flights., told us weather forecast, He is a huge a credit to the hotel. Nothing was too much trouble. Always cheery and chatty. Probably the best hotel receptionist I have ever met!!.

Great location. Fabulous breakfast. Given a drink ticket for rooftop. Staff at bar/restaurant were very unfriendly and refused to allow you in the outdoor rooftop dining area to enjoy your complimentary drink. Took 10 min to even get someone’s attention to order a dessert which completely irritated the server. I watched as others came with their tickets for drinks and treated as rudely as we were and told “no outside viewers” so with no place to sit they got back on the elevator.

A very warm welcome at the reception. Hotel is very centrally located. Breakfast served is something to look forward to especially with the quality of the food served . The only area we felt needed immediate attention is the beddings - mattress is really too soft and the bed covers and quilts looked so worn out and awful.

We had a quirky room in the old part of the hotel with a sloping floor and large wooden beams. The decor was rather tired although the bed (two singles pushed together with a mattress topper linking them) was comfortable. The free standing air conditioning unit did not work, except on fan mode and the flexible hose connection to the outside disconnected several times. The green stained pine furniture was very 80s. The bathroom had a powerful shower unit over the bath but, again, the room was dated and had cracked floor tiles. There were cobwebs along the ceiling near the window in the main room and the carpet felt a bit sticky underfoot. On the plus side, the location was very convenient for the old town bars and restaurants. It was also close to the river; convenient for our running. We also had an excellent meal in the rooftop restaurant. The reception staff were generally very friendly and extremely helpful in offering to print out bus and train timetables for our several excursions further afield. The hotel seemed pretty busy during our 5 night stay. We would stay here again, though it would be nice to see the older rooms refurbished. A sign near the lobby says that the hotel was refurbished in 2015, but I find it hard to believe that any changes to the decor had occurred in our room since the 1980s.
