Matus Guest House

Good location, practically in the center of San Ignacio. Walking distance to the bus station, to the farmers market, to local tour companies offices, to food places, cafes. Very good for backpackers interested in Mayan ruins, hiking and cave tubing. Mayan complex Cahal Pech is just 1 km away from Matus Guest house. Xunantunich - 10 km away, Caracol - 75 km, good new road. Another plus for Matus place - they rent cars. Nice impression from the front desk girl Delmy. Don't worry if you need to get up early for your tour, the neighbors gorgeous rooster with his mighty voice will make sure you are awake before sunrise!

Updating the kitchen will add more value to the place.

Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön gelegen, man hat einen tollen Blick auf das Zentrum von San Ignacio, das Haus ist schon etwas älter, da es aber mit viel Holz gebaut ist, hat es eine sehr angenehme Ausstrahlung, es gibt eine Küche für gemeinsame Nutzung. Wir vermissten hier nichts und die Betreiber sind sehr angenehm. Die Gegend ist hier sehr sicher und wir fühlten uns in der Unterkunft sehr gut aufgehoben.

Très bon emplacement pour partir en excursion. Chambre spacieuse avec salle de bain privative. Douche avec du débit + eau chaude. 2 ventilateurs dans la chambre. Personnel accueillant et serviable.

Excellent AC, good WiFi, good location just a short walk uphill (not as bad as the other areas of town) and close to the restaurant and tour providers. Good value for money.

I had paid for the deluxe room with an AC and they tried to downgrade me without my knowledge, which I found pretty unacceptable. It was easy to spot however since the other rooms don't have AC and I had to complain to get the room I booked. I wouldn't want to stay in the "fan only" rooms here because of the heat. Also not the most clean place I stayed at, but doable for a couple of days.

Close to city center, many restaurants to choose from in tge area.

It is like in a village, with noise from other houses nearby, roster crows in the morning, and traffic noise throughout the night.
