Harbourside Inn

The staff were friendly and helpful and ensured I had a taxi to pick me up early to the airport.

Very good location , close to shopping, restaurants, hotel is under renovation, staff can improve customer service, but overall not bad for the price we paid.

The room was nice, Staff were friendly and helpful. My only issue was the workers doing room renovations smoked and it drifted through the hallways. I realize this was temporary but is allergic to cigarette smoke so it make it very uncomfortable getting to my room. The price was great for this time of the year.

Nice views, nice and quiet, friendly helpful staff, free private parking, allows pets.

Lobby smelled of smoke, stains on the bedding, lobby and entrance filthy. Fresh blood on the floor of the elevator, no hand sanitizer, staff not wearing masks, no plexiglass shields. Property owner didn't reply when we contacted them, no refund to date. We left immediately and got a room a the Comfort Inn across the street where it was clean, safe, COVID 19 protocols in place. Do not stay at Harbourside Inn, filthy and unsafe.

I have never felt anxiety from a building before. Stepping into the place gave me an anxiety attack. It smelled, the floors were warped and creaky and the heater was falling off the wall. Each section had a different smell from a bad smell to Marijuana.

This place must offer subsidized housing for the homeless or something. Lots of strange characters around. I was scared our truck was going to get broken into in that parking lot. Parking lot is really awkward to get out. We had a truck and had to back out the entire way because there was no way to turn around. The entire hotel smelled horrible. Second level is not wheelchair accessible. We needed more toilet paper but there was rarely anyone at the front desk so we just bought our own.

We slept 2nights. 1st night we got clogged sink and broken shower at room 243. 2nd night we moved to room 247 that has proper shower and sink with better condition. We can sleep well with no noise for both days

It should be noted that there are people living in the hotel that otherwise would be homeless. The Security Guard at the front door of the lobby was the first give away that this is not a normal hotel. I should have read the reviews more carefully. We checked in, lobby not too bad but lots of wheelchairs in the lobby. On our floor one of the rooms was open and you could tell someone was "living" in the room. We dropped off our luggage and went to visit family. When they heard where we were staying they told us to go back and get our luggage as they had heard the hotel had bed bugs. We went back, got our luggage and left. No cancellation, no reimbursement. An expensive lesson that you need to read reviews before booking.

My spouse and I took a spontaneous trip to Campbell River and booked a short notice stay at this Inn. We arrive and nobody is at the front desk so we wait for a few minutes before the lady finally notices that we're there. We check in and receive our key card, head up to the room, and the key card didn't work so we needed to go back down and have that corrected. We get into the room and it's not the type of room I had booked (it had 2 queen sized beds as opposed to the king size that we had selected). The tv only had about 4 channels, unlike most places that provide at least basic cable or Shaw cable. We had asked a staff member for the WiFi password and he attempted a few times to rattle it off coherently but could barely get it out and the password that he finally decided was the right one obviously wasn't because we were unable to connect to their WiFi. The bathroom was dirty, the tub was stained and looked as though it hadn't been washed in years. Lastly, after coming back home, I've noticed a few bites on me that look like bed bug bites upon doing some research. We checked for bed bugs when we came in and didn't see anything, however, the appearance is very similar to what I've seen online which makes me nervous that I've brought them home with me. Please don't stay at this place. It's not worth it. There are about 20 other hotels/motels you can stay at in CR. We've stayed at several others and this is by far the worst.
