Super 8 by Wyndham Erwin

A good hotel with an excellent location on I 26 just before heading up and over the mountain to Asheville. Clean. Helpful host. An elevator to the second floor for luggage would have been useful, but I made it.

We stayed 2 nights. Our microwave did not work but the front desk immediately gave us a new one. Half of the lights did not work but we had enough to get by. The rooms could use some updating, especially the carpet. We hung the do not disturb sign on our door the first night but removed it at 11AM and went on about our day, only to return to no housekeeping. (Our room was not that dirty, but some toilet paper would have been appreciated) The good thing is that the beds were very comfortable and the people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful if we had a question or issue. For the price, I would say that I would stay again if I needed to stay in Erwin.

When I arrived at the hotel to check in, my reservation had been cancelled. They said they didn't have a credit card to pay for the room. I told them that the Expedia site stated that the room could be paid at the hotel and that the night before the site stated that there was no need to confirm. They then offered me a smoking room that reeked of smoke. I refused that room due to my allergies. They called the Mountain Inn & Suites and got me a room there. They did give me the same rate for the room but the overall checkout total was slightly higher. The refrigerator in that room did not work. That hotel was further away from the festival which meant I had to drive daily and pay for parking daily. (the Super 8 was within walking distance). I wasn't the only one that this happened too. The man in front of me during checkin was having the same problem. And one of the dealers at the festival had the same issues. It was a very disappointing situation.

Location was good for the apple festival. There was lots of dead bugs in the corners of the room. Beds clean but not comfortable.

All lamps and electric appliances were unplugged. AC on the whole hotel was turnes off, so it was warm, moist and smelled of mold. Sheets were stained and looked unwashed. Carpets were soiled, bathroom smelled of urine

Friendly staff and very clean and modern facility.

the room was outdated, the bed spread had a lot stains on it ,like from a woman's period. The carpet had torn places int he area near the bathroom door, the bathroom lid on the john had a few cut marks on it, the floor was sticky and the walls in the bathroom was sticky also, the towels and the wash cloths was real ruff the water , when I flushed it, didn't have enough water pressure to wash all the toilet paper down I would have left but they had a big sign said no refunds, I had a job interview the next morning so I tried to make the best of it. I wont stay there again

Okay for a quick stay but rooms need a good update and the carpets need to be replaced.

it was depressing and it was right across from a rundown trailer park and electrical station. the tv service was bad. the towels were like sandpaper. not a happy experience with the motel

Hotel was clean but there was no above and beyond to to entice us to return. Staff was pleasant but not overly social for a hotel. Was there for 2 nights and I have no desire to return.
