The hotel is nice, and has good amenities, although the staff weren't very friendly, and they didn't pay much attention to a couple of problems we reported.
My wife and I stayed in a superior double room for six nights, with an amazing breath taking view. From the room on the 20th floor we could see Playa Brava, the peninsula (where Terrado suites is located) and Cavancha, the main beach. Also, the room was quite spacious and confortable, including a LCD TV, a frigo bar, a microwave, a boiler, and a table which came in handy to wine and dine. The swimming pool was great, and it is quite enjoyable for those who like swimming. The location of the hotel is unbeatable, cause it's near Cavancha, two supermarkets, the city Casino, and it is very close to the pubs and restaurants at Playa Brava.
But despite all these good points, not everything was up to our expectations. The WIFI didn't work in the room, as advertised, but it did in the corridor. When we reported the problem to the desk, they said they would check the connection. Three days passed and they didn't have the WIFI checked. After complaining again, they sent a couple of technicians, who discovered that one of the WIFI access point of our floor was broken. Unfortunately, that discovery took place a couple of days before our departure, so I had to go to the lobby or stay in the corridor to check emails and browse every day.
Another downside of the hotel was the gym, which is advertised as "fully equipped". The gym is located near the pool, and is ran by a lady who's the owner of a would-be Spa. Although they offer all kind of treatments and there's a small sauna, all the equipment of the gym was in a sorry state, and it was practically impossible to have a decent work out there. The equipment consisted in two ripped mats, a few dumbbells, a broken bike without a cable to the socket, and two glidexes, one of which dripped oil.
After trying to work out for 30 minutes, we ended going to a gym at Playa Brava, a block down the hotel. This quaint gym is ran by an old man with an Argentinian accent. The fee was only 500 pesos, a little less than 1 USD, and the equipment, despite being old and a bit rusty, worked.
As we knew it was no use talking to the staff at the desk, we asked whether it was possible to talk to the manager about the so called fully equipped gym. Oddly enough, the manager was always in endless meetings according to the guys at the reception desk. Two days before leaving, we insisted that we wanted to talk to the manager. After listening to us, he offered a free Italian dinner at the main restaurant as a compensation.
All in all, this hotel is an unexploited gem, with a great architecture. It is very well located, but save for the manager himself, the staff seldom makes an effort to help you and make your stay more comfortable.
