Chateau Inn and Suites

I ll start with the positives - amazing decor , beautiful reception area with amazing reception area living room and cozy romantic fireplace They offer coffee and water with lemon and peach juice for free We got a free upgrade to the room and they gave us a penthouse suite without us even asking for it , which was a nice touch Now the negatives , the hotel is close to the train which honks with long loud horns all night , which is very disturbing if you are a light sleeper or trying to fall asleep The windows in the room do not close fully so you need to always keep AC on otherwise it will become really cold in the room when it's cold outside The parking lot belonging to the hotel fills up fast and you can't park on street so you have to park by train station across street which is also slightly inconvenient The AC in the room is super loud and it's hard to see whether it's on hot or cold because it is located far and you can't get to it because of stairs Lastly , we asked for a late check out and they only gave us for 12 pm and we asked multiple times but there was no getting through , usually hotels accommodate till 1 or 2 pm but here was impossible to budge Overall I would recommend this hotel for the decor and looks and nice upkeep , the rooms have all necessary and above amenities , however the AC / window and check out situation and the loud train that's constantly blowing loud horns makes me a bit reserved on staying here again.

Meticulously maintained

What a wonderful place! From George warmly welcoming us, to our luxury room, everything was just right. We picked this hotel because we wanted a wood burning fireplace, for which they provided the logs. Everything was spotless. Just to name a few of the amenities: in room safe, fridge, ice bucket, free wi-fi, and coffee and tea in the lobby! It was just a lovely spot to celebrate my birthday in every way.

We enjoyed our two-night stay very much. Stylish and comfortable room, the decor was quite glam, actually. Good water pressure, comfy bed, eye makeup removal wipes (fabulous), and handy mini fridge. We had a gas fireplace, which was delightful as one day was chilly and rainy and the fireplace dried our boots and jeans and made the room super toasty. We had Room 53, which was in a separate structure from the main one. Coming back late, around 10pm or so, the little parking lot at the hotel was full so we parked at the nearby train station, as advised by the front desk. Not a big deal, just something to note. The only real negative was that the train noise was quite loud on a few occasions. We were glad to have our earplugs and rain noise app. Once, well after midnight, the train whistle/horn and rumbling was so loud it was almost like it was passing right by our window. We had a laugh about it, but just something to be aware of. Our room was closer to the tracks than the rest of the hotel, so it might not be so loud elsewhere on the property. The train doesn’t run in the wee hours (after around 1:00am to around 5:00 or 6:00).

There was a wine opener in the room and nice size bathroom

This is a hard place to review. It looks impeccable - beautifully furnished, friendly receptionist (who upgraded our room without being asked) but Room 14, lovely and clean as it looked, reeked of mildew. We drew a bath in the Jacuzzi which seemed clean until some black bits came out of the pipes. And the mattress seemed stuffed with straw - very uncomfortable. Maybe that's why it's so affordable ($160)?
