Hilton Garden Inn Chicago/Tinley Park

Very nice with several gardens to relax, sits, eat or read in. Close to good restaurants and shops. Near freeway so easy to drive to downtown although still tack on an extra 30 min for bad traffic.

The staff was friendly but the place is definitely outdated. The tv doesn’t even have a guid and it’s not a smart tv.

Rooms and hallways all need updating. Bathroom door barely closed and not sure if the bathroom floor was clean.

Trying to get in this place a chore with the way the road is made. I wasn't sure if I was pulling into a hotel or a truck stop. I stayed on the first floor. The place was clean, but my room smelled of dog and cigarettes. I'm not even sure if smoking is allowed in rooms anymore, but this one needed some extra attention in removing the odor. I was only here for one night, but it was long enough for me not to want to stay there again.

The location was nice, parking area clean and nice.

Water marks on the ceiling, outdated rooms, air conditioner not working in the lobby or in the hallway when you got off the elevator to your room.

I’ve stayed at many Hilton properties over the years, and this was by far one of the worst experiences I’ve had. From the moment we checked into our room, the smell was unbearable — a strong, sour odor like feet, the kind that hits you as soon as you walk in and tells you the carpets haven’t been properly cleaned in years. It was genuinely unsettling and made it hard to feel comfortable in the space. What made it worse was that housekeeping never showed up once during the entire stay. No fresh towels, no new linens, no trash pickup — nothing. If you're not going to service the room fully, the minimum should at least be towels and trash removal, but even that was neglected. This wasn’t just a bad day or a staffing oversight — it reflected a complete lack of care for guest experience and cleanliness. It’s easily one of the saddest Hilton stays I’ve had in a very, very long time. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and brings this property back up to the standards guests expect from the Hilton brand.

We usually stay at IHG/Marriott properties for personal travel, but my husband stays with Hilton when on business, so we decided to give this hotel a shot. The AC wasn't working in the lobby when we arrived, which was not a big deal, but when we got to our room, I found a dirty/stained comforter, an unclean bathroom, and barely any towels. We heard noises all night (dripping? Clanking?) and woke up with congestion- which I understood when I saw the black mold growing on the bathroom wall. The gentlemen at the desk were unconcerned and made no commentary when notified, which makes me to believe that this was not news to them. Beware if you like a clean hotel or are sensitive to mold.

Ice machines don’t work on each floor, AC is out in lobby, water leak in roof at back door dropping into a bucket. Staff doesn’t quite know what they’re doing with check ins and taking payment. It takes forever to process anything, they are nice and courtesy but definitely check your itinerary for property costs as they may charge more unexpectedly and you need to address it asap. They also don’t give us breakfast vouchers as promised, our group all had to ask for them each day.

I was very apprehensive about staying at a Garden Inn after my last experience in Covington, LA (see my posted review). I should not have been. This hotel is night and day different. It has the basic same layout, same exact decorations, BUT we had a very nice experience in this hotel in Tinley. Every employee we met was personable, helpful and FRIENDLY. The room was well kept and extremely clean. There was a notice in the bathroom stating their cleaning practices, leaving nothing to guess at. What it did NOT have was mold in the bathroom, broken furniture, filthy carpets, rude employees, etc. And yet, we were told they will soon be going under renovations. It’ll be even nicer. It’s so obvious when owners, management and employees take pride in their jobs. The landscaping is beautiful. I kept thinking, “this planter is even nicer than the last one we just walked past”. It is very obvious whoever does the landscaping takes his/her job seriously and is very good at what he/she does. The breakfast set up was clean with fast and personable service. The little area that is set up with food and/or supplies for purchase was tidy and full. l can’t begin to tell you how nice this hotel was to stay at, after a concert at Credit One Amphitheater.
