Royal Park Hotel

Excellent experience; rooms were new, comfortable and clean; the staff was amazing! If you get the opportunity to visit the Royal Park, the hotel is lovely; the grounds and furnishings are comfortable. The Park 600 restaurant's food and beverage is outstanding; try one of the pizzas- they have their own wood-fired pizza oven. It's conveniently located near Downtown Rochester. The downtown area is just a 5-7 minute stroll from Royal Park. I loved my time there!

Beds are very firm and a deal breaker for me.

My lone request would have been to have a feather pillow. In the bedroom. Every thing else was perfect : check-in at 3:00pm, dining room at 5:00 pm. I can’t remember her name but the check-in person was gracious & informative. For dinner the young woman couldn’t have been more helpful, ant at 9:00 am Elle & Jjasimin ( I think) were helpful and efficient. Thank you for a lovely stay🤗

Great hotel. Parking was a challenge.

The area is great. The Royal Park is overpriced for their rooms and also charges an amenity fee and fee to park your own car.

Having stayed for our anniversary a few years ago and having a top notch experience, we decided to do it again for our tenth. Ownership and management has changed since then, and we noticed a decline in multiple ways. #1 greeting at check in was much less staffed, no anniversary greeting (although I messaged ahead of time), no welcome cocktail as previous stay, no room upgrade either for our platinum status or tenth anniversary celebration, no in room acknowledgement or welcome( last time they had a welcome basket with champagne and chocolate). The hotel in general was not as cleanly or upkept for a luxury category property. The room had no coffee maker so we looked to order room service breakfast. No menus or mention of it in room or on tv that I could find. I pushed the room service button on phone for it not to be answered. Finally I got an operator who put me through to restaurant. I ordered and it was delivered like grub hub in paper bags and plastic ware. No tray, no silverware, no class. Not what you would expect for such a property. The one perk we might have received due to our platinum status was a later checkout, but the maid busted in before that and said she was not notified. While walking to our car on our way out, they had their garbage area open with sewage smelling water flowing across walkway that we had to dodge/get around. Also forgot there was what looked like pee on top of toilet tank. Not like it used to be.

Charging for parking and a "resort fee" (they called it something else) was surprising. The restaurant in the hotel was poor.

We love this hotel and stay here frequently for various family visits and functions. This time however (September 12th weekend) we had very uncomfortable mattresses- not sure if they were new or old but we had not had any issues on prior stays. Room 209

Overall a nice stay. We stayed for a family birthday celebration that was quite nicely done. Rooms and property were beautiful (beautiful showers + chaise lounge in room!) and very clean. Nice toiletries. It seems they have many events and that’s the primary focus. Friday night arrival was a madhouse, with only one bellman, and the front desk agent not super friendly. They should staff up more for these busy times. All other staff were very welcoming. Had some good drinks at the bar. It’d be nice to only charge for valet parking with it being a suburban property. Nice to walk or make the short drive into downtown for the cute shops and restaurants.
