Lost Iguana Resort and Spa

This beautiful hotel immerses you in nature. From your room, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Arenal mountain. However, keep in mind that the nearest city is about 25 minutes away, so your evening dining and socializing options are limited to the hotel itself.

Love the volcano view with lots of greenery looking out from our standard room. The breakfast was great with enough options, and the service was exceptional. It does take about 25 minutes drive from the town.

Pros: The resort was spectacular- beautiful location and the grounds were serene and lush. The room was spacious and comfortable. We had a great stay at this hotel. The pool bar happy hour was amazing. I enjoyed the warm pool and I dined at the pool bar restaurant the first night. Cons: renting a car is a must (location is 30 min from town) and the drive to the resort is very dark (no lights to help guide). The restaurant was limited in selections. I didn't get to do the puma trek- we always returned too late to reserve it. The room should have more mirrors (only one in bathroom) and a few extra lights (very dim). I wish there was a microwave as food options were so limited. I did use the mini fridge for juice and milk and pastries bought outside. We had a leak from the ceiling on a very stormy night. Overall, it's a beautiful and peaceful hotel resort. So glad my family got to stay here the past week.

This was a perfect base as we explored the area around La fortuna!! Staff were fantastic/ super friendly and engaging with my kids. Great breakfasts before we headed out in the mornings. Fantastic views of the balconies from our balcony.

Amazing nature walk inside the property

Wonderful visit! Everything was clean, the pools were great, the food was delicious with enough variety on the menu that everyone was happy (including kids), the day trips we booked through List Iguana were amazing. We did not rent a car and did not think we needed one. Highly recommend!

This is a great place to stay if you want to experience the rainforest in comfort. Gorgeous surroundings and views of the Arenal Volcano. Trails on the grounds that are easy walking. Good food. All staff are very helpful and friendly. Pools are small, but the resort is small so not busy with a lot of people. Quaint, quiet, and full of nature. Close to excursions. The hotel can book many of them for you. Golf cart pick up to take you around the property. Umbrellas in all rooms and areas. You do need bug spray when you are out walking around. The rooms are nice, comfortable, AC, open balcony with rocking chairs to enjoy the views. Would definitely stay here again. We had two families with kids ranging from age 7-18. Great trip.

Best ever from the minute we arrived. We got lost into a peaceful experience watching nature from our balcony and an always changing view of the volcano. Set a goal to bring the whole family here, and not too far from the action in La Fortuna. Wonderful on every way!
