Best Western Plus Beach View Lodge Carlsbad

Location is awesome, pool and fire pit very inviting, and breakfast is great. Staff very helpful and courteous.

Almost perfect stay! The Best Western Plus Beach View Lodge in Carlsbad exceeded expectations in so many ways — the breakfast was great, customer service was warm and attentive, and the location couldn’t be better. It’s close to everything yet just far enough to feel peaceful and quiet. I especially loved the fire pit area and the ocean view, which made mornings and evenings feel extra special. The only downside was the super tight parking spaces — definitely manageable, just a bit tricky if you have a larger vehicle. Overall, an amazing spot for a relaxing getaway. I’d absolutely stay here again! 🌊🔥

GREAT LOCATION AND BREAKFAST. WE TOOK A NICE WALK ON THE BEACH. ANDREW AT THE FRONT DESK WAS SUPER NICE. WE ALSO ENJOYED THE OUTSIDE BALCONY. WE WILL FOR SURE RETURN.

The property was very clean: the flowers were pretty and the ladies in the breakfast serving area were very helpful and friendly. In addition, we could walk to restaurants; the shops and the beach!

The only negative thing I can think of is there are a lot of steps on the property which was difficult for my Mom to get around. We had no other complaints.

Nice location. Pleasant grounds. Large room, nicely furnished. Some dinged walls, peeling paint, crumbling grout begging to be refreshed. Staff reasonable pleasant, though would not provide invoice on departure, saying Expedia would provide, which Expedia did not. Included breakfast was below average for hotel of this level.

The beach view from the room was not unobstructed and barely visible. The location of the building was convenient however, the building was old and this was obvious and not worth the money they charged. The service was not good at all: they acted annoyed when we asked for more towels and to have the trash taken out on day 3 of a 5 day stay and we had asked for more TP and they never brought any so I had to go the front desk to get some. There is no housecleaning while you stay but you can ask but see above. The warm breakfast service was a nice touch but considering what we paid for the room and all the other things that lacked, it is not enough to want to go back. Also, they charge $19/day extra for parking which should be part of that ridiculous room charge.
