The Beacon Inn at Sidney

Location is perfect for closeness to waterfront walkways, main street and restaurants. We have been here numerous times. A great little getaway from the city. A lovely chariming little Inn.

Breakfast wasn't much more than a bun and the orange juice in the refrigerator wasn't replenished.

The room

The Beacon is a very nice place to stay and the location is perfect. The only "issues not issues" we had was that the mattress was getting worn drooping in the middle and it was filled with extra bedding on the top to compensate for the dip in the center and unfortunately making the bed high centered and I fell out of the bed twice. The shampoo was watered down, half filled and a bit old I say due to the smell and there is no bar soap. I know what everyone is thinking. Who doesn't bring their own grooming product and you're right but this is one time I forgot thought I could use Beacons. The only other concern we had was the poor lighting at night in the parking area. There simply isn't any. I don't think I would feel safe if I wasn't with my husband.

If we can't have a full sit down breakfast, it is wonderful to have it delivered to our room the evening before. Koodoos for that

We thought we were going to be on the main floor (sometimes knee problems), but when we arrived he said 3rd (no elevator) but we were place on 2nd floor and not too bad at all...actually probably nicer to have been up one floor and facing the street instead of parking lot. Bringing a van though the very narrow side driveway was sketchy.
