Dinsmore Boutique Inn

Adorable boutique hotel in historic brick house. Huge comfy bed with nice linens, renovated bathroom, good air conditioning. Convenient parking and delicious breakfast at the on site restaurant. Staff couldn’t be kinder. Highly recommend.

The host was wonderful. Our room had steep stairs to reach the room.

Highly recommend the Dinsmore Inn. The host was wonderful (excellent communication) and the room was lovely and super comfortable. Better than a BNB. Great location and easy access to visit wineries and fabulous restaurants. We loved the history of the Inn and they’ve done a great job honoring the history and yet adding appropriate modern conveniences and appeal. Breakfast was at their sister restaurant next door and was delicious, beautiful and featured great service. Housekeeping was great with super fast service. If you’re headed to Charlottesville, stay here. You won’t be disappointed.

Loved it! Great location, walking distance to The Lawn, UVA Hospital, the corner. Clean and tidy. Super comfy bed and an outstanding breakfast. Exceptional value!

The Dinsmore Inn was a step back in time to the days of Thomas Jefferson. It is old and shows the two centuries of use, but it's quaint and welcoming. Located between and within walking distance of UVA and the Historic Downtown Charlottesville Mall, it was a perfect location. Free parking and wonderful meals were quite the bonus.

This was my second stay. While good, it wasn’t as good as my first visit. TV was out for the weekend - we had planned to watch the British Open (no discount offered). Tub water was lukewarm, not hot. Patio - table top was rusted and the floor needed painting. The bathroom lights, shower lights, and fan should have separate switches - not all wired into one switch. Extra crispy bacon was rubbery and hard to chew - I think the bacon was cooked on a sheet and then cooked again in a microwave to fill my request. Stairway and hallway rugs could use a good shampooing. Customer service was great as usual - I just think management needs to focus on the little things that improve the customers’ experience.

The 'period' feel of this historic structure, and the comfort were excellent. The breakfast was beyond unreal - extraordinary!! My one constructive criticism would be this: when I am tired and check into a premium room, and perhaps I want to access the news -TV streaming should be simple and quick. Turn on; press the channel number; and there is the programing, or the Guide. In the absence of that, as a poor alternative, at least printed instructions on how to navigate a screenful of unfamiliar apps, in order to get to core programing.

Great character

We travel extensively, including a recent cross country road trip.. The Dinsmore Inn is outstanding in every aspect of accommodations, e.g. ambience, linens, toiletries, location, sound, staff. Could not have been improved upon.
