Express Inn - Bay City

Lots of shady "activity" going on in and around(parking lot) the motel from both guest AND visitors. Rooms need updating,dirty carpets and furniture.

Overall this was a pretty 'meh' hotel. I don't expect much for the price, but lights that don't work (never got replaced during an eight day stay), microwave that sometimes worked (got replaced halfway through stay after asking every day), and many missing fixtures (like sink knobs and door deadlock) are not a good sign of the quality of the place. My crew also found trash, drug paraphernalia, and cigarettes in their supposedly clean, non-smoking rooms, and the sheets were holey, stained, and never changed during the stay.

Was an OK room with large flat-screen but could be kept up much better. Floors were dirty but bed was decent.

Stayed 2 nights while hunting in the area, the bed was nice sheets and bedding clean, nice hot shower, carpet a bit worn and need vacuumed, if they would taken a few minutes nad do some serious wiping and cleaning would be nice. I realize for $42.00 per night it was no $120.00 per night 4 star hotel. Would stay their again, doubt that my wife would...

Although a non-smoking room, all if my things smell like cigerette smoke

Stayed at the hotel in Texas. The front door would not lock and I had to put a chair under the lock at night. The wifi does not work in the rooms. I was asked if I wanted to move to another room. I was literally over the office with my room.It is a gem needing a bit of polish. GEM!

This was a comfortable room, large and spacious. The management was great, offered a simple breakfast until 9 am. I will stay here again, it was close to everything, fishing, golfing and much more. They let us check-in early and check-out late. The room was clean, they had a blow dryer, coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave in the room. Water pressure was good and the water was not only hot, it was soft. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars all across the board was because some people would not like the fact that it was an older hotel and you knew it was older. It didn't bother me at all, as it was much nicer than some of the newer hotels I have stayed at lately. My hat is off to this hotel chain, management staff and owner...for such a wonderful rate, yet you gave me more than that in space and comfort!!! The air conditioner worked great!! I will return here next time I am in Bay City!!!! The surrounding area is also older, but it did not seem to have homeless or people hanging about. Way to go Knights Inn...see you soon!!!

We stayed cause we had already booked 3 nights needs a lot of updating. Unclean smell bought Lysol to spray entire room & room freshener. Bathroom fixture were not properly fixed had to screw back in shower faucet to shower, red nail polish I believe & hope all on bathroom wall. Would not stay ever again.

bathroom was filthy-shower curtain had mold on it. How hard is it to throw a shower curtain in the washing machine with bleach?
