Columbus Sea Hotel

Terrible hotel and definitely NOT 4 star. Rooms are very old and in disrepair and a long distance from town. 20 euros to get there from train station. No tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. Extra charge for tea and coffee. Tiny TV and Italian only on all channels. Reception staff disinterested in customers. Food at breakfast very very basic. One of the worse hotels I have ever stayed in.

Everything is bad and looks old. The madres in bed is lumpy and pillow is just worn out. Carpet with big spots and worn. Breakfast is very minimal. You have to pay for wi-fi. Will not recommend this to anyone. The four star is NOT true.

The photos on line must have been taken a long time ago as the rooms are well over due for a make over. At 100 euro a night this was the most expensive place we have stayed and is well over priced. I wouldn't stay again and I wouldn't suggest anyone else does either.

Its being advertised as a 4 star hotel, but its actually a 0 star inn. Dirty, small, unmaintained and lacking of everything but a bed a small plastic desk rooms. Views to the container terminal and trucks parking lot. Only good is the bar furniture, but they wont give you even a takeaway bottle of water. Stay away from here. Also Genova is dirty and careless.

The hotel does not deserve the four stars, the hotel is worn and in a desolate condition. Room 227 was strewn with stains on ceilings and walls, the bathroom had a water damage and there was already mold. The breakfast was a disaster, the rolls were rock hard and only the yogurt you could eat. As a conclusion one would say, never again

As a travel agent we decided to stay for one night before our milestone cruise. I chose this hotel as it matched my requirements. But I was misinformed by two sources much to my disappointment.I tend to check hotels for my future clients and this establishment will not be mentioned in any shape or form. First of all its not a 4 star, more a 1 or 2 star. The decor in the hotel corridors had not seen a drop of paint in decades.Past guests etched their names on the worn out plaster by the walls next to the lifts. My room, where do I start? Absolutely appalling. The last straw was breakfast, it stated "hot breakfast". This is what we were greeted to our Breakfast- 3 or 4 boiled eggs, 2 wholemeal croissants, 3 stale croissants, some cereals and dozens of biscuits (more suitable for children). Coffee was not descriptive. When we challenged the waiting staff she turned round and barked that breakfast was at 7 and that she had been up since 5am. On the lift it stated 7.30 breakfast and as to what time she started I dont give a damn, not my issue. Once she finished her bitter reply she hurriedly joined her mate with the military chaps in the bar next door who were also staying in the hotel. In all my years in travel this has got to be the worst hotel I ever stayed.

Columbus Sea Hotel is located in a non-safe vicinity. The front desk guys are unpolite, the rooms need a renovation, the breakfast is terrible. Internet access is charged, but it is too slow. Oh, the room cleaners are nice. My stay was in September 2018

The only good area was the bar. The rest of the hotel decor left a lot to be desired. In the third floor hallways the carpets were badly stained an a ceiling tile was in danger of falling out. The bedroom carpet was also stained, the walls patched and painted with a different colour. The shower was dirty and the doors likely to become detached if not pulled in a certain way. Both shower and bedroom ceilings had water stains on them. Breakfast was acceptable,but not what was expected from a four* hotel.

where to start from? awful bedrooms, awfull beds awfull and not that clean bathroom, but above all and the fact that left us with the worst feelings is that the day we were leaving and went to the reception to pay they tried to take more money from us!! as a company of 6, we booked three double rooms, and they tried to persuade all of us that we have to give them more money. they said this money was for the taxes. the other significant thing about that is that my boyfriend payed this money as soon as we arrived there, contrary to the rest of our group that prefered to pay it later. when the departure day came they insisted that we hadn't payed and that we should pay!

Room was available on arrival. Nice quiet room. Nice view overlooking the harbour. Convenient to dine in dining room.
