Grand Hotel Sonnenbichl

Comfortable hotel but shower did not function well. Dinner time service was slow and the wait staff was not very gracious but food was good. Price did not include breakfast.

Hotel Sonnenbichl was an unexpectedly wonderful find in Garmisch. The hotel staff was extremely helpful in orienting ourselves to the local areas of interest as well as showing us an extraordinary level of personal care in assuring we were well taken care of. The complimentary breakfast was outstanding and the beds were some of the most comfortable we have ever slept in. The view of the alps and Zugspitze were definately worth the extra $, and the ambiance of the cow bells just added to the experience.

The hotel is 3 km from the centre.

Very nice hotel, elegant and reasonably priced. It is maintained really well. Friendly and courteous staff. Although it would have been nice to have internet access in room and breakfast included with the price. Location is a little out of mainstream. Nonetheless, will recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Hotel was OK, location was not centrally located. When we arrived, we were told breakfast was not included, which is never the case in Germany. The extra charge was 15 Euros per person, which made this hotel much more expensive than it should have been. On the last day before checkout time, we went out to pick up some things for breakfast and the housekeeper had started to clean our room before checkout and threw away alot of our things. When asked why they entered the room before the checkout time, he told us it was "not my problem" The hotel staff had to be called to return someof our things!
