Where to start, unbelievable holiday - cannot wait to go back.
Transfer to the hotel was approx 30-40 mins depending on traffic - an experience on its own, the roads are insane.
Check-in was quick (check-in online prior if you can, speeds its up), Welcome drinks and concierge will take your cases to the room.
We had the swim-up room, could not recommend more, we were still on the sunbeds at 7pm in the sun. Lovely room, everything you need, including hairdryer and safe.
4 pools:
*Swim up pool area is very relaxing, no music.
*Pool closest to the reception, day beds available on a first come first served basis, no charge, with other sunbeds dotted around. There is also a hot tub/cold tub....with bubble.
*Middle/Main pool, low level music on all day with a nice chilled vibe.
*4th pool located by the bar at the top end, small but nice and relaxing.
More than enough sunbeds to go around all day, yes we got up at 6:30 to get 2 around the other pools, as sun doesn't hit your swim up terrace until around 1pm.
And this might sound like hell, if you are a tad lazy, like us.... but there is a morning prayer alarm that goes off at 05:10 for 5 minutes, which was odd on the first day, but once you get used to it, it's like a sign to get up and enjoy the location. We just had a brew on the balcony, enjoyed the sunrise, went for a walk, towels and an early breakfast - not for everyone, but suited us.
Food:
Breakfast is served 7:30-10:30 at the main pool restaurant, good choice for everybody, cooked breakfast, continental, omelettes, fruit etc.
Lunch is serviced in the same location from 12:30-3:30 (i think) and again has something for everyone.
Evening meal is 19:30-22:30 which is a great touch opening so late if you're having a late afternoon, great choice in an aesthetically pleasing location - this is served in the restaurant by reception.
Bars:
There are 2 bars, one at the top pool and one inside. Ideally we, and others commented that a pool bar around the 'relaxation pool' would have been ideal, but in reality, it's a 30 second walk.
Staff:
The staff are superb, couldn't do enough for you, always friendly and realistically made the holiday more enjoyable.
There is a Ping-Pong table and darts board if you fancy showing the missus how you'd have been a pro sportsman if it wasn't down to the ankle twist of sports day in year 5. Nice to have 15 minutes out the sun.
Gym on site , didn't use it but had good comments.
Spa also, but again didn't use it so cannot comment on the prices.
The outer circumference of the site has a walk way which is great for a walk after dinner or to get the steps in, just loops around.
The gardens etc are so well maintained, immaculate and adds to the stars, impressive.
We had a last checkout room, booked at check-in, cost 650 dirham, which was around £52, which was worth every penny as it takes checkout from 12pm to 4pm, without moving rooms. ideal.
There is a shop on site, but there is Mohammed Shop just outside of the front gate, turn left and a 1 minute walk - everything you need, from snacks, fake handbags, football shirts, memorabilia and everything else - at a fraction of the cost.
This is also the place to book your excursions, cheaper and more authentic.
The hotel puts on a free transfer to the Souks, which in our opinion was a great few hours out. Takes 20 minutes to get there (on the hour outbound 10am onwards, quarter past the hour back) Book at reception.
Takes you to the Medina which is then a 5 minute walk into Marrakesh, all the shops, bars restaurants, authentic Marrakesh.
We heard a lot about the hustle and bustle and it nothing of the sort, yes they try and get you into their shops vocally, but with a smile and friendly 'no thank you', they move on. It's full of colour, photo opportunities and more, would return!
Entertainments isn't too extreme, and just fills the evenings, music bingo, karaoke and live singers. They do play all of the football games too which is ideal - unless you watch Villa-Spurs...ruined my day haha.
Overall, we are already looking at returning later this year.
Prob missed loads out, any question I'll gladly answer if i can.
