A very beautiful hotel — you really want to take in every detail. We had a spacious room, and in the evenings we could watch the sunset right from the living room — truly magical. The staff were very kind and helpful with any request.

There was a small mix-up in the restaurant, but it was resolved quickly.

Fantastic stay in Newport at a property that really went above and beyond to show the value they could provide. This wasn't an inexpensive hotel but somehow they made it seem worth twice the price. We were emailed prior to our stay and mentioned that we were there on a road trip showing our kids all the states and that Rhode Island was our 45th state. When we got to our room, there was a lovely gift back with a book on all 50 states and a separate book on Rhode Island. Our kids were delighted and it really was an example of every single staff member going above and beyond to make our stay memorable. We loved our room, it felt unique and had lots of great touches. The location was perfect, the indoor pool was great, and every dining and bar experience we had here was top notch. This was easily in my top 5 hotels I've been too and we have been to a lot of wonderful locations.

Had a conference at this property. The staff are the difference at this hotel. Very personable and attentive. Will be back for another visit soon.

We had an absolutely exceptional stay at The Vanderbilt in Newport—truly one of the most memorable hotel experiences we’ve ever had. What made it so special was the incredible team: Heather, Melissa, Luke, and all the bell and door staff. From the moment we arrived, they went above and beyond in every way. They remembered our names and preferences, greeted us warmly every time we came and went, and made us feel genuinely welcome—not just as guests, but as friends. Their kindness, attentiveness, and personal touches created an experience that felt more like staying with family than at a hotel. It’s rare to find that level of service and authenticity, and it made all the difference. We’ve stayed in many beautiful places, but we have never had such a thoughtful, warm, and personalized experience. We can’t wait to return.

I went here for my birthday weekend with my boyfriend and it was the best stay, I could not ask for more! Surrounded by shops, restaurants, the water, etc. Unlimited ways to spend your time in the area, and once you stay at The Vanderbilt you will not want to go anywhere else.

The hotel itself is stunning, but what truly sets it apart is the exceptional staff. Every interaction was memorable—each team member made us feel genuinely valued and was consistently attentive and eager to assist. The reason this will forever be our go-to property destination whenever we return to Rhode Island is Srdan Dokovic. I have rarely been so impressed by the level of customer service provided. His dedication to ensuring every guest has an outstanding experience is nothing short of remarkable. From the thoughtful handwritten notes of appreciation to his warm, friendly greetings each time we arrived or departed, his attention to detail and genuine care were evident throughout our stay. He helped make my wife’s birthday one of the most memorable and I am forever grateful.

My stay at the Vanderbilt in Newport was truly unforgettable. My wife and I traveled to Newport for a long weekend to enjoy some spa services and relax. The Vanderbilt's service is top tier. Every member of their staff that we had an interaction with was extremely pleasant and professional. We felt like we did not need to lift a finger. They were extremely responsive in catering to all of our requests. We will certainly be back.
