Hotel Baía Cristal Beach & Spa Resort

Though only there for a couple of days the hotel was very nice with excellent facilities and friendly staff. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

We had nice time there weather was ok and food was good as well.

we arrived at Baia Crystal to be told we had no booking for Oct and that they thought our booking was for November.They provided a room for us at their sister hotel Baia Grand near albufeira. We were of course very unhappy,however we had no choice but to accept and they did upgrade us to half board.The hotel room was well maintained and a good size,the food was ok but we had to queue for meals on occasions as the dining room is to small to seat a full hotel.

Expected a little more from a 4 star hotel - rooms are quite basic, we had a double room but had twin beds pushed together, they charge extra for most things e.g. 14 euros for a lock for your safe for a week! Reasonably close to the beach, takes 5-10 mins to walk down the road - bit more of a distance to the main shops / restaurants area - can walk this in about 20 mins. They do have a free shuttle bus (on weekdays) but the times aren't particularly helpful the return buses only run twice at near midday and 5 pm so can't get it back after dinner so we only used it one way once. Quite a lot of different restaurants, a lot of Italian places (probably more than portuguese) and a couple of nice beach side bars and gelado shops. There is nightly entertainment in Carveiro centre which is sometimes quite good... the hotel entertainment, on the whole, was pretty awful! Without hiring a car a week was definitely enough, there isn't a massive amount to do but if you just like sitting by the pool / on the beach it's fine! Also quite a nice cliff side walk.

Very good and quiet location. The kids enjoyed the swimming pool. The breakfast selection and the dinner buffet service was very good. The family want to come back next year for the same experience again. There were many small beaches around and the biggest beach was 20 minutes drive away. The town had lots of restaurant to pick from.

Great value. Spacious rooms. Quiet. A bit dated. 16-17 mins walk to Carvoeiro.

The hotel is in a quiet part of the town and this is what we wanted. Our room had sea view and every morning seeing the pool and the sea from our balcony was a gift! The nearside of the local beach is a bit stonie but if you go to the far side of the beach it is more smoother. Also the local town restaurants and the O Stop fish restaurant at the brach - must go places. Great entertainers for kids at the hotel and the staff are very friendly and nice too. Great experience!! Would recommend.

Very comfortable room. Nice pool area. The hotel is located on the cliff with amazing views. Unfortunately you need to pay for wifi and it disconnects once you stop using your phone and you have to enter all these numbers constantly to stay connected. The receptionist was very kind and gave us very valuable information about places to visit in the Algarve.

Cold and the same brwakfast everyday. Briken loxk on balcony doors reported again and again through first 4 days - repaird on 6th day of stay. All staff can speak english that is a big plus, some staff very rude though.
