Hotel Baía Cristal Beach & Spa Resort

Great hotel, about a 15 minute walk in to town. Well worth €5 in a taxi back.

This hotel is ok but I wouldn't stay again. The staff were rude and unhelpful several times. The breakfast was lovely but lunch was disappointing so we didn't try dinner. I paid for an upgrade to a sea view and for internet. The view was ok if you stood on tip toes and the internet only worked in the outside corridor next to the room. I was told it was a problem with apple phones?!?! Shame they didn't mention that at the time of booking. The room was pleasant and there was plenty of space. We backed onto a garden which actually was lovely. There was evening entertainment which was nice although some said it was too loud. The bar area was nice and well priced. The pool area is well looked after but the water was freezing which you could blame on the time of year. It's a good 20 minute walk to town but you can get to a lovely beach in 10 minutes (waves were very big and it dipped down quickly so not so good for kids) but the beach in the town is fabulous. There are lots of great places to eat and drink in the resort and it's totally worth a visit. Like I said in my title if you get a good deal then book this hotel otherwise look elsewhere.

This was out 2nd visit and would thoroughly recommend the hotel. There had been lots of updates in the hotel since our last stay. Clean comfortable rooms - we stayed in the junior suite - food was good with lots of choice. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Good situation and buildings with what looked like a lovely outdoor pool and also a smaller heated indoor pool. Margarita(?) on reception was very welcoming on arrival. BUT it is a bit hi-de-hi with rules and with opportunities to upsell - a bit like McDonalds - "would you like fries with that?". For example, this is the FIRST and ONLY place I have ever been asked to wear a swimming cap since leaving school over 40 years ago. I didn't want to get my hair wet when I went for a dip in the hot pool so put on a shower cap. Within 2 minutes I was approached and told that unless I put on a proper swimming cap, which they presented to me to buy, I had to get out. I wasn't swimming - just soaking with my head out of the water. Then the wifi - you can have it free in the bar, but if you want access in the bedroom, you need to pay a daily free. The breakfast range was extensive, but not quality. Parking spaces are extremely narrow and appear in short supply.

Visited May 2017 & had nice room with pool view & side view of sea from balcony. Staff were all friendly & spoke good English that made it easy for us. Room very clean with daily change of towels. We had booked b & b so eat out in town each evening as we knew there are lots of good restaurants . Easy walk to town but did get taxi back up the hill one night, only 5 euros. Would like to return later in year & would recommend this hotel.

For the money this was excellent value can't fault it one bit apart from the bar staff .. Tatiana ! This woman And an older barman were extremely rude and made you feel like you can't ask for a drink even though I had paid all inclusive ... they spoilt my holiday and these two members of staff spoil it for their team ... the management was lovely though. Rooms were lovely , food was lovely. Facilities great ... had a lovely time apart from these two people

15 min walk to town / restaurants. Lots of options. Rooms were large with fridge. Decent size pool. Indoor pool nice and warm. Steam room and sauna was great.

Good location very close to gorgeous beaches in carvoeiro, marinha beach and others. Also very close to restaurants. Entrance to the trail is very easy and you can enjoy up to 5 k of hiking with gorgeous views. Good breakfast and good service in general. Only one thing that we didn't like much, internet connection only worked in the lobby area (or you needed to pay for it if you wanted in the room). Internet should be just for free in the whole complex.

I came here with my nine year old daughter to spend some quality time with her. We had a lovely time where we were well looked after. So much so, my daughter wants to come back next year!

Lovely location far away from main village but easy to get to for a change of scenery and to enjoy the local bars and cafe's
