Hotel Baía Cristal Beach & Spa Resort

Great location. Close to town & many nice restaurants. Pool & room with sea view were great. Had a couple problems with the room that took some time to correct. When we took shower, water backed up thru a drain on floor of bathroom. Also, A/C evaporator in hall had a clogged condensate drain and water dripped all over the floor when it ran. Plumber came at 6PM right before we were going to shower to go out to eat!

Really enjoyed our 4 night stay. Friendly staff, lots of amenities and very clean in all areas. The pool area and grounds are very nice too.

We stayed in room 245. We paid over $300 for a one night stay and we didn’t have air conditioning. It was a miserable experience. We’ll never go back here.

Nice hotel close to the beach. Only trouble was the room wasnt cleaned to the standard expected.

Stayed over for a night either side of our villa holiday to obtain better flight prices. It was perfect for our requirements. Nice big pool, overlooking the sea, park for kids. Restaurant served nice food and rooms were clean. Second night at end of our break was much bigger and better family room. Would definitely stay again. We don’t stay in hotels if this size generally, we prefer small boutique hotels. Reception & bar / restaurant staff were very helpful although pool bar assistant (lady) came across very cold and unenthusiastic both times we stayed there. I actually refrained from approaching the bar in the end but maybe she was just having a tough time! Reception arranged packed lunch for our airport journey as we left very early before breakfast which I thought was a nice touch. Thank you to Raffael who was particularly welcoming and helped me to my room with my luggage.

Very nice and friendly staff. Everithing was perfect and i did admire the dedication of whole staff to make turist journey in Hotel Baia Cristal a beautiful and unforgetable holyday. I consider myself very luckky i could book at this hotel as i knew was in very high demand. On the other hand has a very peaceful atmosphere, you can really hear the seagulls in the morning and have a wonderful view of Centeanes Beach from hotel cliff.

Beach: ——— There are two ways to get to the beach. One is on the main road, along a narrow pavement on a road where most people don’t seem to bother with respecting speed limits. The other is along a cliff-edge path that is probably unsuitable for children or anyone not at full health/fitness. The first option is marginally safer, but takes forever. In any case, the beach is quite small and crowded. You are better off driving to Benagil beach if you can. Which then begs the question: what do you gain by staying here? Rooms: ———- Rooms are quite basic and very dated. The suites do have a small kitchenette attached, but I don’t see the point. No microwave, dishwasher or oven. And barely enough space for anything. So except you are an expert in cooking on a two-burner electric stove, I won’t bother. In any case, everything felt a bit 1960s. Hygiene / Cleanliness —————————— Thankfully the rooms were cleaned with beach or something equally strong. Downside is that the smell lingers forever. Our sheets were never changed in the 7 days we were there. We saw the same stains over and over again. What was really scary is that over breakfast, we noticed that the waitresses never wiped the tables. They simply replaced the cutlery and plates for the next unsuspecting guest. I understand not cleaning the floor when you are busy, but wiping and sanitising tables is a basic. Don’t think too much about the sticky matts that the cups are laid on by the machine.

What a location! Great view to the ocean right on the cliffs. All rooms (or at least most) with ocean view and a terrace. Fully furnished. Great attitude from personnel. Lots of pools (2 outdoor, 1 indoor heated, 1 jacuzzi) plus a playground (great when traveling with family). Buffet overpriced.

Anything u needed eg iron, kettle for tea for the room you can ask for and the staff deliver. 20 minute walk to broad walk and town n beaches. Very clean, readonable price food n drink and good entertainment.
