Hotel Baía Cristal Beach & Spa Resort

Love this place, stayed here 6 years on the trot. The staff are fantastic, the location is perfect, however.... ...... The food is ordinary and the bedrooms are tired. When we started coming the cost was about £100 a night. That cost has nearly doubled. Some of that is beyond the hotel's control (exchange rates) but not all and, generally, it's not such good value for money anymore. We love it but I've left the last few times thinking that I could do better for the money

One day stay not enough to pass definitive judgment. Overall the hotel is 'nice', very close to the beach and with relatively easy access. Rooms and breakfast are average. Clean and comfortable makes it a good 3 stars

Location is optimal for wandering. Beautifully situated on a cliff overlooking the Atlantic and a short stroll into Carvoeiro. Property was well-maintained. Food was plentiful with good quality/taste overall. Reception and Manager Gil were very professional and helpful with dinner reservations, taxis, etc. Biggest complaint was with the housekeeping as our room was not well kept at all. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

I picked this place on a last minute decision to attend the Carvoeiro Black and White festival. So we didn't arrive until early evening and departed the next day. We had an hour by the main pool/patio area that was very pleasant, but the pool was a little too cool to enter. I've stayed in other Portuguese hotels and I think it must be due to regulations that you must wear a swimming cap for indoor pools, we didn't want to pay €5 each for a cap so gave that a miss. Room was spacious with a fridge, TV etc. Bathroom was a little bated but functional. Breakfast finished too early on Sunday (10am) and check out was non negotiable noon. All in all a good value stay.

While the overall experience was excellent the room I received was somewhat dated and in need of a refresh. One of the closets in the bedroom would not close fully as the door was handing off its' hinge and a couple of the drawers in one of the units would not close properly as it appeared that they were of their runners. Besides those (very) small items the hotel, the staff (a particular shout out to Julio and Eduardo who could not have been more professional), the available amenities were first class.

We got a good deal and thought our whole experience was great value for money. Beautiful views of the ocean, peaceful and quiet resort. Everything you need for a relaxing few days is available. Friendly and helpful staf, especially Rui in the restaurant. Good buffet morning and evening. Location perfect to explore the beautiful Algarve. Will be back!!!

Nice hotel with great view of the sea. It offers great atmosphere with short distance to the beach. Great location for people looking to relax.
